My son contacted me today with great excitment and a small confession today. Since graduating from college he's had trouble finding a job and has finally landed his dream interview. It's with a company that background checks/drug tests/et cetera on the day of his interview in 2 weeks. He was excited for the interview, but admitted to smoking pot in the last couple of weeks. I used to smoke grass back in my hayday, but it's been quite a while. He said he hadn't done it in months, but in the previous two weeks he smoked a 'quarter'. He described this as not much, but like I said I have no scale to base it on. So I've been worried sick because this job will be great for him. I've read many "screens" that can be purchased or injested, but this company will probably have an extremely thorough test and in all likelihood they will test for anything in the system which may hinder their abilities to detect marijuana. My son can be described as being 6'0 and 250 pounds. I've read that metabolism plays a big factor and lets consider his as "slow". Whatever he needs to drink, eat, or excercise up to this point to assure as much guarantee as possible can be done. I plan on lighting a fire under his ass. My question, what is the best path to take for the next two weeks? I know he needs to drink a LOT of water, but is excercise advised? Right now I've told him he needs to drink at least 5 gallons a day, but he keeps telling me his friends can get him herbal supplements that work. I want to know what will do best to get this out of his system in two weeks legit. Can anybody help me to help him get this job?
Oh okay, I'll look into that and will tell him that may be a bit of overkill. Any thoughts on what an appropriate amount may be? Also, thanks for the quick reply!
well I drink a 1-1.5 gallons a day. But from Google "To exceed the body's ability to excrete water, an adult with normal kidney function would have to drink more than 2 gallons of water a day on a regular basis." (http://www.merck.com/mmhe/sec12/ch158/ch158c.html) Five gallons will surely have NEGATIVE effects!!!! exercise is your best bet over dilution which is all extreme water consumption accomplishes on drug screen.s
A tangential question: You're 23? I'd say your son could be, at the oldest, 8 years or so. Pretty early for a job. Pretty early for smokin', too.
how is that sad?? her son recently graduated college and is about to get a real job...22/23 is about the ripe age
Its a mistake guys let it go lol But really, the only thing your son can do is drink water, and exercise. Look on google to see what methods/supplements help clean your system out fastest. 2 weeks may not be enough, sad to say.
Okay guys, thanks for your help! I'm really hoping he can beat this, I'm glad he wasn't too embarrassed to tell me. It's unfortunate that he even has to worry about the way he parties as it relates to his job, but such is the reality of life. If anybody has any suggestion we're all ears. Looks like we've got two weeks of worrying to do! Thanks again though, I really do appreciate the input. I figured it would come down to water and exercise, but hearing it from other people who have gone through/heard of friends going through this process helps quite a bit.
The whole trick with the water is not how much you drink the prior week of the drug test but how much you drink the day of the drug test. Water only temporaly flushes out toxins and it won't work for long term.
no reason to worry until it is day of test my friend, even if you don't become a forum regular let us know how it goes. GOOD LUCK!
Cranberry juice is a good detox. Have him work out and drink cranberry juice. Tell him not to drink copious amounts of water during the test day. The results will come back "sample diluted" and he will either have a retest, or they'll pass on him. If they do a hair test hes essentially fucked either way.
Yes, thc is stored in fat so exercise helps burn the fat therefor ridding your body of the thc. Also have him drink cranberry juice it helps. Theres also some special drinks im not sure if they work but they say they make it so you can pass a drugs test.
Yeah, look into detox. I've heard stories of them working. Have him excercise, and drink plenty of fluids. But, if he smoked just a little amount, and still has 2 weeks, I really think he'll be in the clear. But do a little research into detox. It can't hurt anything. But I'm going to venture to say he'll be fine.
