Family being family. When I was young, my family, my grandmother's 13 children would bring all of their children from all across the country at least once or twice per year together. Others would come throughout the year as well, so I knew a slew of family members and we for the most part were all fairly close. My grandmother died in 1993, and since then, the family no longer does things like that. Most don't even talk to each other anymore. I miss my family.
I agree with you totally. My family is the same way. Since my grandmother passed several years ago, all of the family reunions have stopped, the calls ever couple days just to see how things are has ceased, and no one is really speaking to one another unless they want something from them. Times change and i guess so do people...
Working with me lovely sons, those funny fuckers!! I cannot rip and tear roofing off with them any more. It was so entertaining ALL day long working with them. (Can still do certain types of roofing --and do) Folks on Angies list -customers love them. I be proud. And clam.
i could go for a lot of things i don't have. right now i'm missing the feeling in my left thumb. it's slowly coming back, but it's been like a month since i smashed it and i'm about ready to move on.
Actually-freedom. The happiest--well --some of the happiest times in my life was when I owned a little bag of clothes,a little bag of roofing tools and a vehicle. I've owned houses, motorcycles, many, many vehicles, had money, been without money, etc, but the happiest is when I owned only what I mentioned above. I have a house,a truck,a 67 Marlin,an attic full of 600 collectable movies,antiques,furniture--on and on. I am going to get shed of most if not all of it by giving it away to my kids,if they want it. Don't know when, but I want to live in a small space again-car-van--Tiny Tumbleweed House(look it up--they're really sensible) before I go to the BIGROOFINTHESKY!! Not as easy as when I was a youngin'.but Imma gonna "git 'er did'!!
