‘Moon, Mars, And Beyond’: Trump’s NASA Pick Promises American Dominance In New Space Race

The Chinese plan to establish a lunar base next year, and the space race has officially begun, with the usual bullshit promises. In many respects, this is a race to see how long the US can keep up, which is not long.

People keep claiming the moon would be good for helium 3 or whatever, but that's only good for compact fusion generators, and neither the moon nor mars has enough gravity to prevent astronauts from dying, after possibly three years of slowly falling apart. It is the robots and space stations we require, not people camping on the moon and, soon enough, the robots will remind everyone, they're coming for our jobs.

 

Yup, nothing left on earth needing fixing, so let's blow trillions on something impossible so the rich can get richer.
