Well, it's been a solid 6-7 months now since I've started couting, despite dreads having already been somewhat present. Amazing how much patients it takes for them to lock up...

funny they do look kinda rwisty but also startin to show some real dreadin too how were they started? id maybe cut out the shae butter a but till they start to tighten and perhaps its how u twust em/ the wool hat should be goiod
is your hair naturaly ringlets? i think it maybe just the loose tipos that look twisty antd the rest dreasdy
if u dont like the tips dreadin naturtaly or maybe stayin loose u can do tip rubbin or crochet.. but the they should take care of themselves

Have you been washing? Otherwise I'd say wash at least twice a week and they'll lock up much faster!

well, it looks like they've locked at the roots and halfway down the dread, and then I reckon just because you have really curly hair, the curls stayed in at the bottom and got really fat. but they look good :) I like curly dreads.

i didn't have twisty dreads when mine were started and i have curly hair. BUT it is not a bad thing. Twists and imperfections is what make dreads so beautiful :)
    They are looking good!
I would cut out the sheabutter...make sure you are washing them with something like dr. bronners. The tea tree one is my favorite :)

I love the twisty look and the curly bits at the end remind me of my dreads (rip)

I probably don't wash em enough.....you think? I'd say I wash them like 2-3 times a month, maybe more but that's sounds about right to me. The only reason I don't wash them more often, because I'd love to is that they start to get MANY more loose hairs after I do wash them.

your heair looks made for dreadin..lol
id definbately suggest washin more often and since u said wax was used id be a lil agressive boiut tryin to make sure itsds all gone ..
stick a bead in the ends close to the tip as u can get emn to stick..
wear the wool hat when u wanna but let em fly free alot too

Those loose clean hairs after you wash are ingredients for dreads. All those hair's will get sucked into a dread on it's own. Definately wash more, don't worry about being too gentle because those bad boys are definately locked in places and that's all you need for now. Cheers

So many thanks for all the positive advice. Also, I'm going in a for a knee surgery on the 23 and will have nothing but spare time on my hands, so I pose this question now. When you are bored or just sitting there, what do you do to your dreads to help em lock etc...?

    Edit:
Oh yea, and Marc Emery is the "Prince of Pot" and that was at cannabis day in Vancouver BC. A group of friends and I trekked to Canada in July, it just so happened to be on july 1st on the same day they celebrate Canada day (I'm french Canadian too), then we celebrated the 4th of july in Canada as well.

ah ok thats why i knew the face...lol
    and name
just couldnt put it in context

i generaly dont do much of anythinjhg wash em and shake em out
some of the babies i twist n play with just cause they feel neat

i have at times if ui had fuzzies that annoyed me tried the root flip or twist n rip iu think if i understanbd those right just to get them to start lockmin and not blow in my face or whatever..but really in general i dont do anything
wear a hat only when overheated and need to get um up off my shoulders...
the only thing i do try to do sorta semo often and kinda absenmindedly is to seperate em so they dont combine
but i dont keep ontop of that too much either...

So is the general concensus that I should just wash them more often?
