would u consider this natural if u sectioned and backcombed ur dreads juss to start it off then using no products juss specail shampoo iz datz pretty much natural?
I consider that man made. I'm cool if someone wants to tell their hair where to section and force it to knot but that isn't "natural" to me.
Natural is in the eye of the beholder. Do what you like and tell everyone else to go fuck themselves.
It's true, in the end we're humans, and humans are apart of nature, so what we do shouldn't it be natural? It very well is in the eye of the beholder, some exclude what humans do as being natural, others will accept it all as natural. Do what you want to do like the last guy said. To each his own.
I consider them backcombed but natural, if that makes sense. It is true that we pretty much all do some sort of sectioning in the beginning whether it's section and backcomb or just ripping...well, unless you just have a congo.
I think its really all a word game.. 'Natural' seems to be a very nice euphemism for the neglect method (a perfectly legitimate method). Backcombing simply gives you more control of the process, but if you just use basic natural products in your hair, it obviously won't be as artificial as using dreadhead hq or knottyboy. Once when searching through the threads here I found a thread where people were heatedly arguing about the meaningfulness, spirituality, purpose of dreads and whatnot. In that thread there was a statement that is very true.. someone said 'in the end, isn't it just knotted up hair?' I think the experience is completely a matter of perspective and person relative. Being a bit of a consequentialist and utilitarian, I'd have to say that the ends justify the means in this case, and either method takes you to roughly the same place.. In which case it all breaks down into personal choice.. whichever method you think suits YOU best. Neglect is less work, Backcombed gives you more control over the process if you want them to be roughly the same size. I personally don't believe there is ANY room for elitism in the dread world, whether it be people in the backcombing camp or neglect camp. I certainly don't want to start a flame war with this, but these are simply my thoughts on the subject.
yea natural gives you dreads of all sorts, size, shape, etc etc. Your hair separate by itself you have nothing to do and nothing to bother with. Backcombed gives you more control so thats why I can make the difference on two person with dreads after a couple years, you can tell they were backcombed (which look nice) and natural is a lot different too, which look nice too. Your choice.
you can consider it natural if you want, but I wouldn't. Generally speaking, "natural" means that the locks were formed together on their own, rather than by backcombing or some other method.
well generaly natural dreads form more or less on theyre own without any or much effort they have no aerificial methids applied to them you may even say they filliw the religios principles of no metal should touch youtr hair wether comb or blade (not necacary to prescriber to the belief itself to use the same principles in ataining natural dreads) backcombing then going natural will still result in reads but they wont look a natural usualy because if the exactness of the sectioning and the work put into creating them they have a less organic nature to them more uniform less nique the size and pattern will result in dreads that just look different then more natural dreads natural takes alot more patience shiznet ive read alotta yoiur posts n stuff and im guessin youd be just as happy with backcombed or natural so the choice is ejtirely up to you but would that be convidered natural/ not really, at least not started naturaly..from that point oin you can be naturaL AS CAN BE BUT THE RESULT WILL STILL NOT BE AS NATURAL LOOKING ADS IF U WENT THE LONG SLOW WAY damn caps
mine are mostly natural forming dreads, but some of them are backcombed. I dont consider those ones to be natural. But I let nature take care of them all from there on. no products, just homemade soaps thats it.
