Hi, do any of you know about herbal/natural remedies for pregnancy problems, specifically hyperemisis gravidarum i.e. extreme nausea and vomiting (ginger didnt tough it with Eden) and pelvic joint problems, its called SPD, basically means the cartilidge that usually loosens a bit in pregnancy loosens way too much, the bones grind and click theres loads of innflamation and i cant walk ect very painful., im just trying to find out all this stuff ahead of time, i ended up on lots of horrible med+ painkillers last time.

Herbs are no less likely to be nondamaging to the developing fetus than things you will find at the pharmacy. And pharmaceuticals are less likely to be tampered with, be adulterated, won't have the risk of having NONE of the active chemical you need.

If you have a health problem, the best solution, IMO, is to have good doctors, who know how to treat the illness in pregnancy and to treat it that way.

I've known plenty of womyn with Hyperemisis, never seen a single "natural" rememdy (with the exception of Cannabis) to help at all. You can't beat Compazine or Zofran for hyperemesis.

I hope things go OK for you. I know what it is like to have illness during pregnancy, and worry your self silly about the drugs you need to take. I figured, I wouldn't be able to function without the meds, so I took them as directed. Kids were all fine. :)

You may not have hyperemesis this time. The best thing to do is try to prevent it, by eating 6-8 small (small as in what can hold in the palm of your hand) snacks a day until the nausea passes. A handful of almonds, 2 crackers, a few slices of fruit, etc, and drink lots and lots of water.

For the PSD, there are support belts that bind the hips and hold your belly up, which minimizes discomfort. Keeping your legs as parallel as possible when sleeping (use lots of pillows to keep your hips and legs parallel) getting out of bed and avoiding stairs or any position that forces you to lunge your legs helps. See a chiropractor regularly who is experienced with pregnant women.
