Ok so ive decided that i want to dread my hair. I liked the idea of doing it natural/neglect way but i havent found that much info on it. Any advice would be really helpful. And if you need to see a picture i got a fairly recent one up in my gallery.
The natural/neglect method is just that: natural neglect. Just keep the hairs clean, and don't touch them with a brush, or with any product. Try a good cleaning soap, maybe Dr Bronner's or something that won't leave residue... when you sleep your head will go wild, wear a wool hat, have fun
hmm i dont have a wool hat but i got one thats polyester, will that work? Also after showering should i dry it with a towl or anything or just let it dry on its own.
its pretty easy............just leave your hair alone, wash it and leave it be........time is the only thing that leads to lockin'. Check out this place: www.knottylocks.tk
I went out today to get shampoo and none of the places had dr. bonners tea tree stuff so i got tea tree vegetable soap and was wondering if it was ok to use, the ingredients looked ok but i thought i would ask just to make sure. ingredients: Natural Vegetable Base (sodium Palmate, Sodium Cocoate OR Palm Kernelate), Water, Glycerin, Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia) Oil (2%), Natural Fragrance (Orange Oil, Lime Oil, Oak Moss Oil, Galbanum Oil), sodium Chloride, Allantoin, Sodium PCA, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Pentasodium Pentetate.
I think it's okay idk im not into that scientific shit. I'm doing natural too lol. My hair is a bit longer tho but still now I have a buddy to compare hair with in the next few years lol.
i have been told that oils are not good in soaps if you are starting dreadies. you want your hair to knot up, not soft. oils that are in soaps for the purposee of fragrence arent a good idea. the smell of tea tree oil is awsome anyways, why do we need to cover it up. and its doing some sort of job in the soap.
You can compare hairs with me too, although I might not count as doing the "natural" method. I used a comb to start some knots and I'm doing the wool rubbing thing. Other than that it's just Dr. Bronners and lots of patience.
