First I should point out that I am not connected in any way to Credo Mobile besides being their customer. I recently signed up for Credo Mobile's cell phone service. They are very anti Bush and oppose all of the illegal wiretapping and the proposed retroactive immunity for the big telecoms among many other things.

They give 1% of your charges to progressive non-profits. Now I know that many prefer to choose their own charity or non profits to give to, but this gives you a way to donate just a small portion every month without having to worry about it.

Credo Mobile also has a weekly email newsletter with informative links and they also have an "easy activism" program where they send you petitions or requests for action on issues that I would bet matter to many of us here at hipforums.

Credo Mobile is in no way a panacea to the problems we face as conflicted and hesitant consumers but I have found that they are a company that seems to have some heart and gives to some good causes and organizations. Along with their drive to get more people directly involved in the issues that matter through their other actions like the "easy activism" and others.

Credo Mobile relies on Sprint's network towers and thus ensures you good coverage in most places. I even have network coverage here in rural Wyoming. Great customer service too.

At least give it a look. Plus they offer you a month to try out their network and at the end if you dont like it, you send the phone back and all you pay is the monthly charge for which ever plan you pick (I tried the cheapest monthly plan to begin with to shore up my bet if I didnt like the service). Not only that but they also will buy you out of your current contract at a $150 maximum after having and paying for their service for 1 or 2 months.

Like I said I have no business connection to credomobile I just like what they have to offer. I would be open to any criticism, personal experiences with Credo, or other questions.

I've been getting email alerts on progressive issues from these guys for months, despite the fact that I'm not a customer of theirs *yet*. Pretty impressive, considering the other communications corporations seem too cooperative in selling out our privacy to the bush administration.

Anyone have any further comments about the quality of service and coverage these guys provide?
