:-\ sorry i have no sewing knowledge at all basicly apart from primary school basics and dont want to wreck my jacket, but i picked up this green cord jacket the other day (looks good in real life honnest, it just doest photo to well with a flash) and its good apart from i have small shoulders and it has massive big pads in there ^_^ whihch looks dead stupid when i sit down and such like because they stick out. So i was wondering how you would suggest getting them out? do i rip the silk inside and try to pull them through or what? -Cheers, Graham
man too bad you don't like the pads cuz they actually look killer... but see if you can find a seam ripper or pair of sharp tipped scissors and make a small opening in the seam. then do yer best to go in and snip em out. good luck!! go slow!!
Yeah, i actually like the shoulder pads in that pic. Make sure before you do it tho too. Sometimes it really helps the whole structure of the jacket but I do know whatcha mean about them when you sit down. I've had a few like that. Have had to wear jackets at work for a long time.
I hate shoulder pads, too. What I would do (if you're really worried about ruining the jacket) is cut the pads off so that just the tip of them is left in the shoulders. Then if you think you could safely pic out what is left with a seam ripper (it should be easier to see) have at. Nice Jacket! Love.
HEY,nice jacket! It'll soften with wear,it may help to crush the pads a bit with your hands so they're not so rigid.I think if ya cut the pads out it may screw with the whole structure, then you may have puckers instead of pads.I've been wrong before! lol! Have you gone to any vintage/thrift shops? You can find killer clothes for cheap!
Hey, nice jacket! I don't have any advice about how to take the shoulder pads out, but i just wanted to point out that sometimes when you take shoulder pads out of a jacket, the shape doesn't look quite right after that on the shoulders, kinda like the material is stretched out, since it doesn't have the shoulder pads to fill them out anymore.
