just pick the seperate strings with 2 different fingers at the same time......not very hard to figure out.
yeah, when I was starting, just playin with strings was very helpful for me, because you'll learn how which string sounds and so.. don't worry about that.. I know you're probly very confused about those tablatures, but you'll understand.. I don't know how about you others, but I started playing according to the chords, where you exactly see, where you should put your fingers.. It's quite easy
you mute the strings inbetween, but anyway try some songs that are all chords like some tom petty or bob dylan and leave zeplin, hendrix, and whoever else aloe for now
Learn songs with just strumming for now, and learn chords... Wonderwall, I'm Only Sleeping, Yellow Submarine, You're Gonna Miss Me, John Sinclair, Don't Look Back In Anger... Just about all the songs off Oasis' Whats the Story, Morning Glory album... learn the chords, then move on to arpeggios, etc etc... maybe some who's been playing longer can help you more but that's the advice I was given, seems to be working quite well... also, before you move onto another song, learn how to sing the song while you play it on guitar... if ya want
Use your fingers, not a pick. I think that's what you're confused by, if I'm right. Just pick both fingers at the same time, and DON'T start with Stairway. If it's your first song.
