Okay, firstly I might only be 17 but i'm not an immature kid with no sense of responsibility. In fact I take full responsibility for all my actions (so I really wouldn't like any of that "You're not of age!" or "Wait until your older!" stuff, I live in England, i'm above age and I accept my responsibilities)

Right, well. Last Tuesday, me and my girlfriend got really close. And in the heat of the moment, we had sex.. unprotected.

So, the first thing we did on the Wednesday was go to Brook (our local sexual health clinic) and we got the Morning after pill and she took it immediately.

Ever since though, she has had Breast soreness and she told me tonight that she thinks her breasts have gotten larger. Now I read somewhere that these can be caused by the Morning after pill, but I also realise these are symptoms of pregnancy.

Also, I pulled out slightly before orgasming, so I wasn't all the way inside her, but I wasn't completely out of her, so yes she received it.

So, I just need some advise. What are the chances of her being pregnant? I mean, I read that the Morning after pill has a 98% chance of success, plus with not being all the way inside her the chances of pregnancy are reduced even more (as I read), but she's really worried; as am I. What could the chances be?

    Thanks.

Well, theres several different kinds of "morning after pills" available but they're all essentially just a super version of a regular birth control pill. They're the hormones estrogen and progestin but in very large quantities compared to a regular birth control pill.

One of the side effects of taking estrogen is increase in boob size and sensitivity.

The morning after pill has about a 7/8 ratio/success rate. That is to say of 8 women who would have gotten pregnant 7 of those who took the morning after pill w/in 72 hours did not. That doesn't mean necessarily that she has a 1/8 chance of getting pregnant because becoming pregnant is not a sure thing in itself even after insemination.

Also, I've never been pregnant before but I dont think any symptoms of pregnancy would develop that quickly, especially not boob tenderness.

You can take one of the over the counter birth control tests 12 days after potential conception and it will give an accurate test. If you go into the clinic you can take a rosette inhibition test for a result within 48 hours, but this is expensive.

I'd say the odds are in your corner but good luck! Also, she might want to start taking the pill if she's going to be sexually active.

Welcome to the adult game you have been playing. All it takes is one of the several million sperm you ejaculated to get her pregnant. There is no such thing as "a little bit pregnant". You probably escaped this time, but be more responsible.

Thanks a lot Jia. She did take an oestrogen only pill, so that's probably the cause.

Cutted: you seem to have an issue with people having sex under the age of 18. Here in England it is perfectly legal, and there's no sense saying welcome because it's not like i'm new to this. Besides, this was a one off; the only time i've not used protection. Every other time has been protected.

If you pulled out before orgasm and did not ejaculate in her than the chances of pregnancy are low. Aloung with taking the morning after pill i would say you have nothing to worry about. (This Time!!!!!!) They make many products to prevent against pregnancy if you do not want to ware a condom. If your partner is std free and not sleeping with others then this is a route you can take. If you are not sure about the monogamy (sp) of your partner then ware a rubber....Better safe than sorry!!!!

In the US, you can vote at 18, and have reached the age of majority. You are considered an "adult" legally, but people mature differently, and some are ready for responsible sex, and others are not.
