Need to find a room for rent.

So I'm dropping out of highschool (already taken my Highschool proficency exam) and getting emancipated

I have a job, and money saved up, and alot of bud connects

i had a place lined up but i just got this email from her

Hi Donnie-​

I need to tell you that after a LOT of heart-wrenching consideration, I will not be able to rent a room to you. I am very sorry. In the end, I would not be able to sleep at night knowing that I've allowed you to be in a situation with college-aged kids who will do college-aged things.....NOT a good situation for you. It would be different if I were actually living in the house- I would have more control over certain situations. I'm sorry, Donnie. I do wish the best for you.​

so now I have no where to go after i get emancipated, and i already told my brother i wouldn't stay with him past 4/19​

does anyone on here live in the clovis/fresno area in CA that has a room for rent?​

i could pay up to about 350 a month, i have no pets or stuff for that matter just a bed guitar and some clothes, i dont drink or smoke cigs and have had no run ins with cops​

Try the local paper and like makesmomcry said craigslist is really great place. I don't know about where you live, but 350 a month isn't really a huge budget anyway good luck.

Your better off buying a shed and living in the woods.

yes iv tried criegslist
yes iv looked in the paper

and you guys obviously think living is way more expensive than it realy is
if you rent out a room from someone even in cali i have seen prices as low as 300

lol i could spend time typing up exactly WHY im dropping out and getting emancipated
but honestly im alright with my reasons so i dont feel the need to make you believe im going to be sucssesfull because i believe i and what you think just dosnt matter

Yeah bad fucking plan man. I dunno what the deal at home is with you, weather your getting abussed or what, because thats really the only reason you should leave. but there is no reason to leave school. All i can say, is it dosent matter how smart you are, or what exams you pass, the fact of the matter is, that this dissicion will limit oppertunities for you for the rest of your life, and im sure you will regret it. Its not about what you can do, its about what employers want.

 

Just out of curiosity, what are your reasons?

and since it seems im going to get crap for it i might as well post my story

I was abused physically and mentally by my mom my whole life
its not a big deal nor is it some excuse to be treated special
but she refused to let me get a job, a licesense, and called the police and reported me as a run away if i ever left the house so i moved in with my brother and am in the process of getting emancipated before she takes legal action to bring me home

and i am dropping out of school because she refused to let me go to school, and i was homeschooled for my entire highschool, and when i moved to california my credits did not get accepted by the school so i would have to stay for 4 more years to get a diploma

also i have already filled out my applications for junior college and will be turning them in as soon as i get my test results

i appreciate that you guys where pointing out its not good to drop out and thank you for your concern but even though i dont have my entire life planned like some high school students i still believe i am making the best choice's i can fitting my personality

is there realy noone one here who will rent out a room to a 16 year old college?

 

You're probably making the right decision about getting emancipated, but if I were you I would reconsider dropping out. You're only 16, so 4 more years of school would only mean about 2 extra years of school. I'm sure that when you're older you'll wish that you just spent those four more years to graduate high school. It's really not that long.

 

Just don't drop out. If you do no college will take you.....

Your probably going to lose your job (I'm sorry but it's true) because your if your mom is really that bad what makes you think that she's not gonna call your boss and get you fired? (she can do that legally).

 

with my personal situation me being done with high school and able to work full time to pay for college is priority

she might do that, its why i have almost 2k saved up right now and am so eager to get emancipated

and no good college will accept me but if i go to junior college for 2 years a normal college will iv already talked to some counsolers about it

 

^not if hes emancipated. after emancipation, and aside from drinking, smoking, or gambling he will be considered an adult. unfortunately, not treated as one.

try to find a studio apartment. small, easy to keep clean, plus, you've already said you don't have a lot of stuff. we had a friend who was paying $400 a month, but his had a fireplace and was big. I have never been to Cali but its probably more expensive than here. drive out into suburbia, look for "for rent" signs, and wear nice clothes.

and he CAN be successful. my hubby gets paid to sit in a room and be suspicious of people, and I don't work, so its success! supporting a family of 3 is bewildering to most people on one paycheck.

If i were you, id do the following:
find a place to live. (i know thats what the thread is about, but its at the top of the list anyway)
work your ass off and SAVE SAVE SAVE your money until you're 18. try and get into a credit union if you can, and use CDs to make even more $
apply to college at 18 (they will be more likely to take you if you can 'front them' some money! plus you'll be at a normal age to be starting college )
apply yourself, be happy, be successful.

Just look in suburbia, you'll find something. Blessings, and good luck.

and i have a CD thats about 2k right now at like 5% intrest
iv talked to counslers at the junior college and they said that i would probably get accepted

i think i need to go to junior college just because if i stop going now it will be hard to start again
