Neurontin (Gabapentin)

Hey all, i have never heard of this drug which is suprising to me because i looked it up and it is said to have some psycedelic effects. I found some in my bathroom drawer and i am quite the psychonaut. I have also learned that it is good for treating anxiety which i know i have around crowds, so it might be useful for me in other ways than just recreation. There is one catch/problem though and that is that it says the pills expiration date is Feb 01. So my main question other than wondering your experience with it is if these pills i have are still good to take or if they have gone bad since they are so old, i just don't want to get sick because of that. They are in plastic packages so they were not exposed to air. thanks.

My doctor put me on neurontin for head pain 3 day later I was bleeding from my nose had sores in my mouth and blood internally My always normal blood pressure shot up to 165/110 and stayed there for a month and now 8 mos later bp is still 135/80 after much diet and lifestyle work. If I were you I would stay away from all pills no one ever died from a joint good luck and Peace

 

Alright thanks for the advice guys. I have tried benzos before (valium) and i diddn't like it because i barely felt it and what i did feel made me feel really dull and lifeless. I really wannah try xanax tho that would be perfect for me. I have been a pothead for the past few years and i am taking a break atm, the point is i like trying all the different drugs i can just so i can experience them.

Snowsurf, i admit your story has scared me somewhat, i am now less intrigued to do it. I still might consider it tho i have read alot of very positive experiences on erowid, so i would still like someone to let me know if it matters that they are so old.
Btw snowsurf how much mg did you take?

I've only tried Neurontin once, and I loved it. It made me very relaxed and social, and gave me a pleasant physical and mental euphoria.

 

Thats the general impression i'm getting from this drug, snowsurf had really bad experience but thats the only bad one iv'e heard of besides when people try to snort it. I am worried about the age of it but since i'm not getting any replies about that i guess ill give it a try anyway.

 

That's what I would recommend. I mean, the pills haven't been expired for too long, and I've eaten pills that were WAY longer expired than those. lol

yes,, Ive been looking into this again since a few years ago, I took it for PTSD, lol... gulf war syndrome and phantom illness , body pains ects..
Now with this weird numbness iin my arm, (electrical shock) that was suppose to be taken care of last week,, cant get MRI images ,, Think I might ask another Dr to prescribe it.. Might mix well with OXY?

 

like mild lyrica... all it does it scramble your nerve impulses..it was originally developed for the treatment of epilepsy

so it seems lyrica is just a more potent form of it.

 

I had both Neurontin and lyrica. i wasnt sure if there was a difference.. I guess there is.

 

so Orison, when you closed your eyes.. did you see like fireworks.. that was about the only psychedelic effect i ever got.. i got it for ..forgot what they call it now..like a chronic arthritis.big buzz word.. you can weed for it in cali.. but then you can get weed for a fucking hangnail in cali.

marijuana does nothing to me for Pain.. not a damn thing..

 

I was on 300 mg it took only 3 days for nuerontin to start killing me 8 mos later I am still trying to bring my bp down. Just my experience. I would suggest using caution when trying drugs you have never taken. A bad experience or worse can happen when ingesting poisons to get high. My advice is listen to the old hippies and go green or just enjoy life. Hopefully todays youth will pay attention more than my peers and I and not have to learn harsh lesons that alter lives.

 

I'm not really "just trying it to get high" i will be using it to medicate myself to see if it helps to treat my anxiety. Anxiety is one of the only things holding me back in life, and i need to do something about it. Secondly, i have 100 mg pills so i will just be trying that much. Thrirdly, I ALWAYS use caution when trying new drugs, i am not an idiot.
