Never thought it would happen to me...

I was driving along the other day minding my own business when I saw the blue lights in my rear view mirror (oh yeah, you all know that wonderful feeling in your stomach when you see those blue lights). I had just got done smoking a joint, and knew he'd be able to smell it. Of course he did, and asked me to step out of the car. He said he pulled me over because he "couldn't see my tags"? My dumbass had left my purse in my trunk. Normally I wouldn't dare travel with weed and not have it ready to eat if I was pulled over. Probable cause led him to searching through my shit. Before I knew it he was going through my purse and found my weed. All I had was about a gram of weed and some rolling papers. He dumped out my purse and pulled out this little blue pill looking thing. "what's this" he asked. I had no idea, and was frantically thinking of what the hell it could possibly be. "It's xtc isn't it", he said. I knew I hadn't bought any, and damn sure wouldn't be traveling with it if I had. I thought maybe someone had dropped it in my purse or something..I was tripping the FUCK out. Before I knew it, I was handcuffed and charged with a schedule I and VI. He was a real jerk and wasn't trying to hear me out at all. After I knew I wasn't going to get out of it I gave him hell. I won't go into all that, but let's just say he wasn't happy that his authority wasn't very intimidating. So anyway, I went to jail..good day gone bad real quick.
I had to see my lawyer yesterday..turns out the "xtc" was a fucking sweet tart. I was relieved, of course. I'll have the simple possession to deal with, but that's no big deal really. I just hate it that I have a record now, and my name was in the paper for xtc. Does anyone else live in a small town where everyone lives for the Thursday paper to come out so they can be nosy and see who got put in jail??? Pretty pathetic, I know.
Just wanted to share my experience with ya'll. Keep ya shit close..that's about the only lesson I learned out of it.

Surely you should get a correction in the paper? Fuck me if they get one letter wrong in a persons name it gets correct the next week round these parts!

Whats the term? Infamatory? Ring the editor and say your having your solicitor look into it?

 

It's not going to matter now anyway. It's just a shame that your name has to be drug through the mud BEFORE you're charged with something. I wouldn't even give a shit, but I have kids. As far as the weed goes, everybody who knows me knows I smoke, and that's the way it is. I probably shouldn't even care what people think.

Man that sucks... I know what you mean about the small town. I live in Alabama, and thats all it is, a bunch of small towns. My friends bro got busted for selling and it was all in the paper, everyone knew about it.

I dont think that shit is right... Yeah it should be on public records but not printed in the fucking news paper... especially weed...

luckily, my parents dont care too much what i do.. so its all good! it still sucks though...

Yeah..he's a dumbass. He must have really enjoyed seeing me beg him not to arrest me. He put me in the back seat and had his fucking rap music CRANKED up in my ear. Rap music that was talking about smoking pot. In no way am I bashing rap music, I can dig some of it. I looked at him and asked him how he could listen to music that condones smoking pot, then turn around and arrest someone for it. I then asked him to turn the shit off that I didn't like it, and he turned it up even more and slammed the car door in my face. GRR..lol
As far as the fines and shit, it's gonna cost me about $1000 to get out of it. Thank goodness it wasn't xtc, because for one pill you're looking at 15-20 years, serving about 4 of those. It's just fucked up, and I'll be glad when it's over. Thanks for the love ya'll.

 

I'd check myself into rehab ASAP if i were you. Judges like that, and it will reduce the risk of them taking your kids.
Looks like you can't be smoking anymore pot for a long while tho.

 

huh? All I had was one joint man..I'm cool. All I got charged with was simple possession. I'm not even getting probation.

CYS don't look too kindly on drug use, and they differentiate between Cannabis and Herion.
I'm not saying you need to go to rehab, it just would look good to the judge.

 

Nobody is going to take your kids over one joint. There are too many kids out there in the system right now with actual family issues for them to be worried about my one joint.

I had to go to court today. It was continued due to my pre-trial diversion request not getting back from the state yet. My attorney feels like everything is going to go smoothly. I feel good about it as well. I just want the shit off my record and put it all behind me.
