How do you guys feel about the new-age hippies? There are people at my school who call themselves hippies. But the thing is, the only thing they have in common with a hippy is the pot smoking. They all dress like gangsters. (and yes, they are all white) How can I not let this bother me?!
hey i know exactly what yur tlkin bout i have the same problem at my school, i think bein a hippy isnt always about the way u dress its also yur beliefs and the way u see things. You shld look past there clothes and see wht there beliefs are and if there truely hippy.
They have absolutely no beliefs! They form gangs and pretend to be gangsters, but yet abuse the term "hippy". Believe me, at first I tried to look past it, but honestly, they dress in baggy clothes and wear their hats sideways and talk like they're a rapper or soemthing, it's rather disgusting.
man, i honestly dont know any hippy posers but there are a few kids that believe being hippy is all about smoking pot. and other kids think that if you dress like a hippy u r a hippy. i think this is BS. and some hippies hate everything and want war and bombs and death and like to fight other ppl but they dont get the lifestyle and thats the biggest part of being a hippy. my one buddy doesnt look a thing like a hippy, hes got short hair but it used to b long until he donated it (selfless act of kindness). and he wears those black baggy jeans that cover your feet from being seen with the straps and other crazy shit on them and he wears a lot of black and listens to heavy metal but he is the most calm peaceful kid i know. just by talking to him you know that hes a hippy. and then there are those kids that dont really consider themselves hippies but have the attitude and theyre all like "u know, im thinking about becoming a hippy..." when in fact its not about the appearance, its deeper than that.
You're all right. Being a hippy is not about how you dress, its in your heart, its your lifestyle, your kharma, its a way of life. There are good people and bad people in every group of individuals, this will never change. Don't argue with them, that's a waste of time, just show them how a real earth child lives her life peace love GAIA
