The golden rod is yellow, The corn is turning brown, The trees in apple orchards With fruit are bending down. The gentian's bluest fringes Are curing in the sun; In dusty pods the milkweed Its hidden silk has spun. The sedges flaunt their harvest In every meadow nook; And asters by the brookside Make asters in the brook. From dewy lanes at morning The grapes' sweet odor rise; At noon the roads all flutter With yellow butterflies. By all these lovely tokens September days are here, With summer's best of weather, And Autumn's best of cheer. --Helen Hunt Jackson
Oh, wow, is today the first day of autumn? I just realized it is the 20th...or is the first day of autumn the 21st?
My calendar says it is the 23rd. There is a place on the linked page where you can enter your city and see what time Fall Equinox arrives. It comes Wed, Sept 23rd at 4:22 a.m., in Atlanta
Okay, the link has directions for how to build your own Hobbit Home...get busy! http://www.emmons.tv/home.html
