What do you guys think? Is this a good thing or a violation of free speach?


I dont use the word out of respect and knowing many peoples feelings about the word. I also think the context of how people use the word should be a factor.

 

Well, I don't like that word and I never use it, but I definitely don't agree with making it a crime to say that word. It's just another facistic law indicative of the police state we are living in. People should really study the former Soviet Union, then compare to the direction in which this country is headed. Or read Orwell's 1984.

Well it's clearly a symbolic gesture, but while I think the intention is understandible, I think the method is insanely wrong. Legislating speech, whether symbolic or not, hateful or not, it goes beyond what the role of government should be.

 

I hope not. Would this ban hip hop artists from using "******" in their songs?

It's amazing how a word can be offensive. Fuck people who are so soft that they get offended by a word. Grow some cojones and get some self-esteem America!

Does the ban of this word apply to African Americans too? IIRC, 'nigga' is street slang for a majority of black Americans that follow the gangster rap stereo type.

So what are they penalties for Black Americans using this term in public?

In the UK right now, offenders only get a 'tag' instead of prison sentences because the prisons are full up. Hmmm

 

I doubt blacks will be banned from saying "cracker" or "honkey."

When it comes to race, it's always a one-sided issue.

 

So how can an act be banned without some form of punishment?

 

As long as the word is proceeded by Graham, we should be able to get away with it

I'm more offended by the "C", "F", "J", "M", "U", "T", "W" and "Z" words. Let's ban them too before someone gets hurt.
