You probably know this, but just in case, I'll toss it in... once you're there, find a kitchen where you're comfortable, and offer to spend serious time helping out. Then work like madness. Carrying water purifies the soul. Oh dear lawd did I really just say that, damn me?! It's only 8.8 pounds per... yeah water carrying is good for the soul. Okay, anyways, I've only been to one national, but I found that the more I worked, the more the magic seemed to happen. I hope someone else carries water this year, heh. Tell ya what, when you get there, introduce yourself as NNF as you make friends along the trails, and when me and my kidz get there, we'll ask around for NNF (we don't have to actually say "Newbie Needs Friends"). Just an experiment. In PA 1999 I sent a pair of socks 2.0 miles via unknown people to an unknown party and they actually got hand-delivered to the right person, a great outcome to a clumsy uncontrolled experiment. Anywyas, NNF, we'll see if we can find ya there. I'll just go by sunlion and we'll see if you can find us. We will be outta there by the 3rd however.
