Welcome to The Hip Forums, it's a great place to hang out & you'll meet some real groovy people here too....Dave
Can someone answer the question what is wrong with youth today? Why do almost all of them have to live by sterotypes and believe in them? It makes no sense because they spend most ,if not all of their lives trying to be a perfect sterotype instead of trying to be who they really are. At school all i see are girls who want to look like the booty shakers and pimps you see on BET.And sell their bodies cuz they think its cool and it makes them popular. I don't understand how people can continue to pursue something that really doesn't make tem happy when they have a choice.
Sk8punk: You said it, "just like on BET". I've been to many remote Eskimo villages here in the Alaskan Arctic region, they now have cable TV. I always shake my head when I see a group of Eskimo teenagers dressed like gang-bangers and trying to make gang signs with their fingers. Havn't heard it for a long while, but they used to say " money see, money do". And as Forrest Gump would say,"thats all I've got to say about that" Except.....Welcome to the forum young lady........Dennis
Thx. Another thing that has got me ticked is how the government talks about how thier all for equality and justice when they don't really understand it.The government doesn't treat everyone equally nor with justice. they can break the law and don't pay a price but when we break the law they make a big deal out of it. We honestly don't have freedom of speech either. Innocent people being thrown into jail and tortured for speaking or writting what they feel and believe...
Sk8punk Hi again. I didn't realize Canada is throwing people in jail for speaking their own mind. Guess I'd better tag more Canadian news sites for my morning read of the world news. Facts of life time, Governments make the laws therefore they are above the law. Some times us everyday citizens get a little piece of them. Take a piece of American history..President Richard M. Nixon. Was caught ordering the break ins of the Watergate offices and seizing the files of the Democratic Party. Popular opinion ran him out of office. When the vice president was sworn in, his first executive order was to give Nixon immunity from any prosecution. As an old farmer once said, " sometimes you get the gravy and sometimes you get the lumps". Bye for now.......Dennis
Dude u seem loike u gotta a lot of quotes up ur sleeve. Not that its a bad thing..It kinda reminds me of v from v for vendetta.
i'm a teen =] and i totally agree with you on the whole stereotype thing , i see it everywhere in ireland , makes me sick to think that people would rather be part of a stereotype just to be popular than being who they really are and even more important , being proud about who they really are , hope to talk to you sometime soon but until then welcome to the hip forums , hope you enjoy your time here peace and love <3
Hey first off, Welcome to the forums! As for the stereotypes, I think that consumerism is to blame, and too much TV, these young folk are force fed info on what is "cool" or "hot" so they stop thinking for themselves, "The Man" says this is cool go buy it and the sheep do! And you see this phenomenon all over the world, thanks to globalization! Kids of all cultures are trying harder and harder to look like their favorite celebrity. Anyway enough of my ranting, Have fun here! Peace!!
