Tragic... I've been to Nice once before, right in the area where this happened.

 

60 feared dead. Someone should of shot that vehicle with a mini gun!

 

Yeah, good guy with a gun shoulda' done that.... right after shooting himself in the foot first and then firing into the crowd by accident.



I knew someone would come up with the "if somebody had a gun" argument... Didn't think it was going to be you.

Oddly enough i know a guy who is backpacking Europe and went to Nice today. I hope hes okay.

 

Won't be just the extreme right that get fed up with this stuff now. Most of the population are going to accept higher numbers of armed police at least

 

Ya I got that when I wrote it. Truth is heroes in reality are not fantasies or all that surgical. Shit gets real!

 

Vehicles used as weapons can make for an unsolveable problem rather than firearms. imo.

The only countries I never hear have mass murders or terrorist attacks are Greenland and Iceland. Are they doing something right?

 

Running people over in vehicles has been used by terrorists in places like Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, and Israel for a while now. I'm sure this is the work of Wahhabists.

This only goes to show how soft soft targets really are. How do you defend against this or counter this?

It's time for the French, as well as other European governments, to open their eyes and engage in mass racial profiling, huge police sweeps, and constant monitoring of the Muslim community. It's also time for the European Union to dissolve its open boarders and install stricter boarder security so that Jihadis traveling from Syria couldn't simply make their way into the heartland via Turkey or some Baltic state.

All in all, tragic. Unfortunately, we are slowly becoming dis-sensitized to this kinda stuff, now that it happens all the time. Hopefully global leaders will work together to keep this from becoming a permanent reality.

 

Probably a small population and fairly insignificant foreigne policy agenda.

I heard these things on the news radio in the car.

 

People are being blown to bits every day in Syria. The losses there are massive compared to what the West has faced.

We are effectively at war with parts of the Middle East. These are the consequences.

 

Huge difference between spiritual experience and religious programming. The Middle East is as spiritual as the Deep South USA.

 

Me too, when I was 18. Such a beautiful place.
And like Meliai, I have nothing intelligent to say anymore.
This is becoming a normal thing in Europe, unfortunately.
