Hey all, Anyhow, I'm really stumped as to why this is happening.. and was wondering if anyone else gets this... We've been "daily" smokers for quite some time... but have decided we are going to cut back, and enjoy only on weekends.... (TGIF). Anyhow, I noticed that its pretty easy (borring but easy) to give up during the week.. but I"m finding my sleep patters are just wacked. I cannot sleep well... and my bones ache like something else... Its almost enough to make me go nuts at times.... just something is sooooo off. I'm hoping once we adjust to weekends, this may go away... anyone else experience this (I remember a thread a while back)? does it last? is there anything that helps? Peace Soc
One of the reasons I smoked was that it eased my insomnia and conversely, the sleeplessness is back with a vengeance now that I've given up a daily habit. I don't know if sleep patterns will return to normal for you as my "normal" is spending lots of my night laying awake. The rest may or may not be related to cutting back but the best thing for sleep is to establish and maintain the same sleep schedule every day.
yep, i'm exactally like that, but i really can't sleep without weed for the first week or so when i quit.
You might want to completely detox, & then take it back up again on weekends once your sleeping gets better.
Hey guys... glad to hear I'm not alone... yea, its pretty wierd.... Layla, how long do you usually need to be off to consider yourself "detoxed?" Anyhow, I broke down last night, but will try it for the rest of the week... hey, I'll let ya know how it works out... I'm thinking maybe I may try (as a one time thing, a sleeping pill)... peace Soc
I have insomnia, which is why I started smoking pot daily in the first place. When I take breaks, the insomnia is back. I don't think the sleeplessness is caused by marijuana, just that the insomnia comes back without it. Also, I tend to get crazy strong(not bad, just intense) dreams when I stop for about the first 3 days. The best thing for sleep is a steady sleep schedule, good excercise, and limiting stress and caffeine. Sorry to hear we're in the same boat.
My insomnia gets really bad when I'm not smoking. I really wouldn't recommend quitting the ganj and taking a sleeping pill instead. Might as well stick to what's good and natural. It also seems to help you a lot medically. You may have had those bone aches for some time now, and the marijuana could have acted as a natural pain-reliever while you were smoking constantly.
yeah, i have a hard time getting to sleep if i don't smoke at least once a day..marijuana is the best sleep aid in the world
yea tell me about it. i been going to sleep last week eveyday around 8pm. although the sleep is very refreshing.
i have insomnia so im up all night long, and the stimulant meds im prescribed to for my adhd dont help either. if your having trouble sleeping, try to start lifting weights or do pushups before you go to bed. thats what i did in rehab, before u go to sleep do sets of 15 and do like 200 and go to sleep. its easy the nightime is a lot better than the day anyway if you have shit to do
ive had insomnia for about 4 years now and ive been on every freakin pill known to man. i have to say that benzos work WONDERS but are incredibly addictive (withdrawal was the 3 worst weeks of my life, keep in mind it wasnt cold turkey either...) but also i find Ambien to work pretty well, its related to benzos but has a slightly differenet action.
Screw that shit, people tell me not to smoke pot straight out of gym (because it's bad for you) ... Whoa .. smoking pot after a damn hard workout, when you pulled the max out of your musscles is the nicest thing on earth. And the pot somehow hits me harder then normally hehe. So I bet sleeping isn't much different ... and besides If I have to wait 4 hours, I have to wait untill 00:30 AM ... heh (not that I normally don't ... but to some people that's pretty late).
yea man its been like this with me for a while cause i smoked everyday since i was 13 and recently decided to cut back. and its like now i cant sleep or i feel as if i dont get enough sleep when i sleep 6-10 hours every night. And i always feel shitty
