hi im new to this site my dreads are 8 months old and ive done no maintenance other than ripping them apart and a few beads
awesome do u maybe have some pics from earlier on in the process? so many are scared off from going natural thinking they will look horrible for a year or 2 i try tellinbg them thats not typical and is just dreadheadhq and knottyboys claims to help them sell theyre methods and products..but still they believe thats its usualy 2 years before they even start looking like dreads i wish i had pics from my early days, but they are all long lost so if u got any that can show the monthly progress i think it would help alotta ppl visualize the early natural process
lookin good. You look like a raven...and I mean that in a good way. Very mysterious, mischevious, and wise. =]
thanks guys soaring eagle i do have pics from earlier in the process the dreads shrunk my hair at least by half!! which surprised me!! you can see in the earlier pics my hair was quite a bit longer at the moment the top is very messy so i have it in a half ponytail, the top is slowly knotting up but that takes the longest ill add those early pics soon
yesa most ppl have 1 or 2 areas that wanna dread slower but they get there when theyre ready cool lets see those early pics
Lovely locks, mister. I dig the beard as well. I'd love to see these early pics too. I'm still debating whether or not to backcomb a bit.
lol thats what happened to chevy (dylanchick0113) she was trying to find someone to backcomb but it took a couple weeks and shre had dreads before she could find someone. annie i useualy tell ppl to try naturalawhile, u can decide to backcomb anytime..months from now kif theyre not dreading, but chances are you'll fall in love with the process and lert it do its thing
ahh good to see the early pics wish therer were a few more inbetween the couple weeks and couple months but the progress was rather steready ordered no real horrible rats nest just steady dreading from the birth of the 1st on
i am very lucky my hair is really frizzy and it tangles up thats one of the reasons i started them, i was at a festival combing my hair and my friend says "dude that looks like it hurts" hehe that was around july 1st 08 and i havnt combed my hair since then i palm rolled a little bit at the start but stopped after a month or so i wash them with treemenda brand teatree oil shampoo (http://www.treemenda.com/) 3 or 4 times a month it prooves it!! NATURAL WORKS!!! unless your hair is straight and oily you dont need any other methods
ya....i never really meant to make progress pics tho.. but i found those on my computer....the 5 month pics were taken by my daughter thanks for the kind comments :cheers2:
what festival? mine like at least 3/4 of the dreadies i know were born at the national gathering that same week july1-10 maybe few days b4 that i dunnoi i estimated july 2nd tho, although the birthday pics (in my 18 year album) was shot on the 3rd at the wyoming gathering. or wait no, it was shot on the 4th thats right, after the silence during the wild celebration..i had to escape to the shade to cool off and an old freind was there so she snapped the oic ahh theres the pic of the freind who took this 1 those are from the 4th so yea ours have nearly the same birthdays, nearly the same origons (well yours was a fest mine a gathering, but ya probly wrre doin a bit of travelin at least) i tell ppl alot that the best way to get natural dreads is to head to the wilderness for a month or 2, bathe in a stream, dont look at a mirror just live in bliss and they happen
