Hey! (By the way, I'm french, sorry for my english!) I'm new into this forum and have read a lot of posts in the Communal Living part of the forum. I've noticed the topics about nomadic communes always talks about transportation in Bus or Vans. I was just wondering if there was still nomadic communes that use their FEET for transportation like the nomadic indians. That cool be a great experience because I got no interest in the technology/material (Even know I'm on a computer right now :p).

yaya , mon , you got the right idea ! hearts in de feets and o dat riddm , dat pure riddm in a gospel of simpleness . free is free when everyting is , and then that's when you are freely smart enough to know how to travel easier even if nobody believes you and feels sorry for you that life is so hard when it's actually easy , and more beautiful .

actually thats a cool question, I ran highway child (nomadic commune) and when I was going threw noxville tennessee I met a group of folk who did travel just like that, by feet, they forsake anything bought , lived off of building there own bikes, clothes growing food, even dumpster diving, though they were religious in nature...they were a badass group of travelling folk, hell I almost left my bus then and walked with those cats...

Solitary nomadic family of three in Finger Lakes seeks others to travel with, caravan style, for safety, companionship and what ever loving, fun, beautiful aspects of living we can share. I am a black woman, my partner/husband/best bud is a white man, our son is the light, the fire, the peaceful warrior fruit of our decade plus. He is three years here and shows every bit of Leo in him. Baba is computer whiz, guitarist/aspiring luthier, amatuer carpenter/electrician/mechanic/jack of all. Mama is intuitive healer, writer, counselor, amatuer seamtress, voracious reader and more. We all love music, singing, dancing, laughing, cooking, eating, star gazing, hiking, listening, talking, hugging, learning, etc.
We are nomads with a home base and lots of friends and family across U.S., but want to find those more in conjunction with our "live and let live" and "do no harm" , loving ways.

We will be in a van w/trailer. I hope to drive around places and hike after arriving. I am in love with the world right now and ready to walk around towns, forests and wherever all over the USA Gonna start south.

Definitely come south with us , anyone . The dollar is cheap right now Barachon! :) We'll travel wherever, too, but need warm sunshine first! Check out our website for more info.

Phoenix I know there's a lot of black females who love singing and partner with white men who play guitar and have 3 year old joyous babies-- but I swear you sound familiar, and almost everything fits, --- perhaps I and mine camped across from you and yours June last year? Their baby could only be considered 3 if you count time in the womb right now, but maybe it's neat to think then there's someone out there, alot like you!

We were in Colorado near Boulder at that time, who knows?
We haven't met ANY couples our age (32) with black woman/white man, just white woman/black man, but it's good to know that my tiny experience isn't the whole picture:)

Funny the drinking imagery you had in there blinkin, pool... proof...

I was hoping Phoenix you were who I remembered... feeling pretty lonely out here in Utah and I am soooo ready to make it happen. It's technology slowing me down. I can't find a reliable internet source on the road for just little ol' me and my internet jobs. One that I can trust and don't have to shell out 6000 bucks for. Why isn't it possible yet??????? Aargh.

Does anyone want to pool resources for an unlimited cell phone plan so we can dial in during peak minutes? Or a satellite dish that mounts on the bus? I have a bunch of good business plans that include the internet and resources you can only get on the road, and I also have a job I do on the internet. All I need is help, 'cause I can't do it alone. Well, I will one way or another I guess, but might have to be a slave to data reception zones. Oh, and none of my ideas are ebay! I think ebay sucks.

This is something that I have thought about doing for years. Problem is that most everybody thinks that it is a nutso idea. If I could find enough other people to go in on it I would do it in a heartbeat.

I am flip flopping a bit on the internet on the road deal, but it looks like a brother in New Mexico is going to act as my dish dealer and help me figure it out. So even though he's kind of the wrong direction for the 4/20 gathering, he'll most likely, as long as it still looks good in 2 weeks, going to be our first stop.

Our website goes more into detail about what's up with us & etc. The link is in my signiture. This Sunday we are resuming our Salt Lake City Liberty Park Drum Circle Kitchen set-up and might get a couple local folks to hop on.... all you guys are on the East Coast!! The invitation is still open though :) and maybe you'll catch us when we make it that way in June/July.

Has anybody here ever travelled with a Rainbow kitchen before?

Ill find the site but we did have plans for our bus doint the same...you dont need a satelite reciever

why not just make use of the www connections at the local library of whatever town you happen to be in or near. the limitations are the hours of the library and if other folks are waiting, you'd have a limit on how long you can stay on-line. only traveled with my personal kitchen but the rainbowthing sounds cool. becca, any idea where you folks will be in may?

Hey soda-- did I PM you? I think I did.

And blinkin-- I totally want to know what the heck you are talking about. Internet from 20 miles away without a satellite dish?!?!?! I'm kinda stuck with what I have for another 11 months but always want to learn the best way to have internet on the road.

This sounds a lot like what I have proposed in the thread in my signature. I think it would be almost necessary to travel on our own feet. Cars will have trouble going through many places and their weight is just too much. I think it would be best to use small carts and have people pull them, similar to how cattle would pull a cart.
