Alot of people tell me you shouldnt clean your piece so it gets ressoned up and the colors change and it hits better after a while. I was wondeirng if this is true. I have a mini bubbler that I wash out quite often (To freshen the water), it doesnt clean the pipe as its still getting ressoned up obviously but it does clean a little bit. So is it better to clean or not to clean? That is the question!
i always wait until the color fills the pipe, and then i clean mine out. i usually get a pretty huge resin ball after i do end up cleaning it.
yeah, I clean em out pretty regularly. The bowl itself, I clean less than the insides, but thats only coz I dont like my pipes shitting in my mouth, and if you dont clean em, they might get clogged and hard, and then you have a useless pipe on your hands.
Well, good and bad to know this info.. now i have to like.. do effort and stuff.. which sux.. but i do know how to take care of my bubbler, and i will be rewarded with better hits, nice can anybody explain to me about the resin balls you get when you clean it? Wouldnt it be soaked in cleaner and salt or whatever you use and be nasty?
You don't always need to use chemicals/water/salt/alcohol/etc, to clean your piece, unless it's a water pipe. But with a bowl, you can just use a lighter and some paper clips, this is how you get the "res balls". You basically use the paper clips to make your "tools", you bend them, twist them, etc, making your own little pipe cleaning tools, what happens is when you heat up your pipe, it causes the resin to pretty much fall off inside, and by scraping around with your paper clips and tapping the bowl out and working it, you can end up with a pile of resin chunks. Press the chunks together, and chill on it like you would a gram bag. Break chunks off and put them on top of a bowl, or smoke them as is, and you get a pretty relaxing high, better than having no mj and yes, when you re-up you have a fresh bowl to enjoy that green with =]
crazy.. usualy the stuff that comes out of my one hitter is pretty much like sludge and nasty. I guess i cant do this with my bubbler, since its impossible to get that crap out.
the only part of my pipe i clean is the bowl itself... just heat it up with a lighter and wipe it clean with a wad of toilet paper... every now and then the mouth piece can be cleaned so not to get "shit on"
do not clean glass pipes dont scrape them when out of weed either if they get totaly clogged poke em thru and smoke what u get out, but thats all then if u break the pipe ever..thats the only time to harvest the lifetime of resin any pipe other then glass clean as ya feel the need to
The only piece I ever clean is my sidecar and that's only to keep the downstem clear. The rest of my glass pieces have never been cleaned. However, I've got friends who are always cleaning their pieces. its all personal preference imo.
I don't know, but why would you NOT want to smoke out of a CLEAN piece? One that is full of resin tends to kill the taste of your buds, and also build up like a bad artery, then it doesn't hit nearly as well. Pieces get so gross over time, you don't want to smoke out of that, nasty. Most glass pieces are made strong enough to handle slight paper clip pokes or what have you, if your piece can't handle it, it was more likely a cheapo... I don't know but I never met anyone that didn't like a clean smoking device, and also, a lot of people I know boil their glass pieces clean in a pot on the stove, it cleans them out VERY quickly and they look BRAND NEW... peace p.s. maybe you guys aren't like me and smoke everyday with the same piece and have to clean it at least monthly?
Yes, clean it. It will clog eventually, and if it clogs it could harden.... Thats what happened to a pipe I had awhile back. I got an old guitar string and pushed it through.. Then i put it in boiling water (i just thought it would clean it)... and it did work actually. Then I sold it for a bike, but i only used the bike to get to a place.
