but just trying to get opinions, that's all...

what do you think of people who take drugs just for the hell of it? i've recently been introduced to this kid, he's mad cool, he plays music, he smokes, he's a generally chill character. but he sorta comes off as a guy who likes to take harder drugs for fun, and nothing more. my whole opinion on taking drugs is, you should take them for enlightenment. if i'm going to eat mushrooms or take some other psychadellic substance, i'll usually make sure i'm in my private space, and usually the mental outcome is good. i learn alot about myself, my people, and my surroundings. but this kid, and many others i've met so far in my life, likes to take LSD and go out to a party... or take 2c-i and go hang out on South Beach...

maybe it's just that it's not my thing, but i couldn't see why anyone would want to surround themselves with revelers (especially fake south beach people) when you're tripping? to me that doesn't seem too logical. and don't get me wrong, i'm not downing anyone for what they do, because someone could easily come back around and say that i smoke too much herb... i'm just trying to get people's opinions on why other people like to do that.

 

the only thing wrong with this situation of yours is how you view this situation of yours.

the person who takes serious entheogens only for fun is all ego. it is this that appeals to your ego. it is your ego that thinks this person is cool. understand the difference between Spirit and ego.

so basically youre saying that you need to justify your drug habbits to yourself, where he does not?

*do i have enough money to buy a sack of "whatever"
*should i take all of it today, or "space" it out.

Some people dont have a problem with other things, situations, and people. Wow, so like you're either surrounded by certain people or not. At the beach or in your room. Playing guitar or watching TV. Because of coarse one is better and on a higher level than another. Of coarse.

what i was getting at was trying to find the reason why people take psychs for 'fun" rather for enlightenment. i never said i knew any more than anyone else, just simply stated my reason why i take them, and why i believe those drugs were meant to be taken, for better knowledge of one's self and surroundings. sure, you can go out and be with people, that's nothing. but taking mushrooms and going to a club with techno music just seems proposterous to me, because it's like, what's the point...?

What's the point of anything? What's the point of what's the point? If you are really trying to seek enlightenment, than detach yourself from that pointless, no pun intended, concept and just get really good at that guitar.

music is a great path. but like, what's the point? oh cause you like it, or because it connects you with god consciousness? Well some people feel the same way shrooming at a club. and some dont. it doesnt matter. So whats the matter with your matter on this matter? Can't you see through the matter.. It's all matter. so it dont matter.

i know exactly what you mean though, cause i too used to think using psyches for partying and playing around was like falling in love with a stripper because she gives you dirty sex that you pay for. Then i realized that lucy and all her friends like playing everywhere with everyone, no matter the situation or mindset. The world is your temple.

 

if they were about enlightenment you should be doing them by yourself

nah man... think about taking shrooms with a group of your close buddies... you can learn so much about them and so much about yourself at the same time just by the interaction. and it's still fun at the same time... i dunno, i guess that's just my own philisophy with drugs...

I feel that entheogens are very sacred and powerful tools. In this day we know alot of people who just take them to see a "dragon pop off the poster" and watch disney cartoons and laugh. To them it is nothing special or spiritual. Just a high, and their minds are unaware for the powerful ENTITIES in these beings. Let alone being able to handle their own essence, imagine them encountering an ageless interdimensional being. In return, I guess the entities show little regard for them. Which is fine for them, but they can learn some much more if they just realized the power of what they have eaten. If they realized the power within themselves...The infinite possibilities, and countless universes... Which will either happen if it is meant to be, or it will just be an interesting time.

 

the path to enlightenment is not paved with chemical substances but rather with the knowledge to recognize the direction the path winds...

 

Drinking and going to the bathroom releases dopamines
Meditation is chemical release in the mind.
Fasting causes chemical changes.
Making love
Martial Arts...
Certain foods...
Pregnancy an intense holy experience not to mention childbirth
Being alone for a couple days on the side of a mountain (vision quest)
Sleeping....
And so on and so on


Just by saying this you have put a duality on the nature of the Buddha mind. Which basically cancels it out, by saying it can only be found in a certain way.Enlightenment is everything, just as infinite as the universe...We are all enlightened, we all have enlightement within us, our ego either has been taught not to realize it, or just cannot accept it.

Even a dog has Buddha nature, a tree, a cat, a baby, and you. Earth psychedelics have been used for a very very very long time(million years+) as a EGO disentigrator, a catalyst for peoples(aboriginals all over the world) to tap/feel into their true nature. There is nothing wrong with your choice, but you nor I can comprehend the absolute truth. My reality is different from yours, and what works for you works for you.

it CAN BE FUN. but IT CAN BE TERRIBLE too.

 

I've partied hard on hallucinigens, used them in small groups, and alone...all at diferant times, for diferant reasons... there's nothing 'wrong' with partying on your drug, there's also nothing wrong with 'not partying' on it...as some 'serious partyiers' may argue..

 

some people just need to chill
when you trip inside its tight and when you trip with friends its tight
but after you experiance it you want to try something diff.
doing stuff is tight,seeing new and different people is cool too

whether you try them because of spirit or because your trying to be cool

. i have never heard anyone mention the word duality in the same sentance as Buddha.

There is no certain way to anything - and that is they key, most folks are MIS GUIDED with the idea that taking some kidn of chemical will lead you to the ''way'' - but thats not true, chemicals are a complex thing as is chemistry and there are infinite reaction that can occur within someones body - from what ive discovered, psychedellics push many off the path rather than lead them along it. if you dont believe me, visit any show today where acid is present in the wake of the Grateful Dead...and tell me i am wrong - the ego is a CONCEPT created by man, and therefore, once one recognizes it does not exist - it can be eliminated.

However, i do not think psychedellic consumption is necessary for the ego death to be present - for me, it happened long, long before any chemical substanc was brought into my system. my blindness hid the trueness of my mind until my sight was regained. be a teacher not through only your words but also your every movement and action. <PEACE and blessings>
