bit of an update on the SAFER campaign. They unveiled their new billboards today. It has a beautiful woman laying down in a bikini. Above it says "marijuana: no hangovers, no violence, no carbs Vote yes on 44"
just because you can't vote yet doesn't mean you can't get involved. But remember, there are many other more important political issues out there that require your help than just legalization of a plant
damn TheShow did you see those dumb fucks up at the capitol a couple days ago? they completely ruined the SAFER campaign! sometimes stoners should just sit on their asses at home, and stay out of politics. (sounds horrible, but look what happened!) for those of you not in denver, our governor is republican, and he had some other republican people against pot, and they were out there saying how bad pot is, and how we shouldnt legalize getting high. And all these people out there that support SAFER were yelling at them while they were talking, and chanting and generally being dumb shits. Now the media is like look at the kind of people that want pot legalized.
yeah it happened yesterday morning. It was supposed to be a type of debate where Gov. Owens and the police got a few minutes to make their point then the pro-pot folks can make their statement, but the smokers were just making asses of themselves during the entire talks, so we'll see what happens in a few days....the latest polls I saw before early voting started this past week had the yes vote behind the no vote, but that was prior to the billboard unveiling and there were mostly undecided which "experts" on both sides claim that between the margin of error and the undecideds it is way too close to make a fairly accurate guess, which is better than the pundits being sure it'll fail.
SurveyUSA, not as great as Brown, Gallup, or Quinnepiac, but it gives us an idea preceeding the election....http://www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReportEmail.aspx?g=68d7f10b-4dc4-4d40-beed-b5f12fa62a07
http://safercolorado.org/humor/#bushcheney here's a link to some of the ads used and others that were proposed but never used to urge a yes vote on 44. enjoy. we should know in 12 hours
Is it just me or should they be trying to promote the benefits of marijuana rather than the evils of alcohol? I don't like those tactics at all. But whatever works, I guess.
The campaign's point has been that alcohol is a safer alternative to alcohol for use by adults in the privacy of their own homes. by showing the negatives of alcohol, they are demonstrating their point. Especially using many well known figures. In some of the signs at the rallies they had pictures of a couple of kids who died from alcohol in the last couple of years and then said if they had only been smoking they wouldn't have died.
