Nutjobs in a wheelchair really annoy me.

So I'm standing in the lobby of the building here at work and I'm talking on my cell phone during break. I am out of the way of the flow of traffic and basically tucked into a corner. There is ample room all around me to navigate out of the elevators and to the exits.

All this being sad, while I'm talking, from behind I get nailed with something hard on the back of my legs. I turn around and there's a dude in a wheelchair talking on his cell phone, who just plowed into me. He doesn't even break away from his conversation, but instead lifts his hand and waves it in a motion for me to move.

Keep in mind, there is a good 15 to 20 feet of open space to his left that gives him a clear shot to the exit.

So I say look down at him, his chair still leaning on my leg, and I say very loudly, "Uhhhh, excuse me?" To which he replies, "It's OK, just move."

Me - "No. I meant you need to say excuse me when you bump into people."

Cripple - "Dude. Just move so I can get by. (He then says into his phone) "Some asshole is giving me crap because I'm handicap."

Me - (Very loudly) "No. No. I'm giving you crap because you just rammed your freakin' chair into my leg."

Cripple - "Do you have a problem buddy?"

OK. This is where it gets weird. Weirder, I guess. If 2 dudes are jawing back and forth at each other and one yells the words, "Do you have a problem buddy?", them's are fighting words. Here's the thing though:

2) I'm at work. Even if I was going to fight someone for something stupid like this, I wouldn't do it at work.
3) THE GUY IS IN A WHEELCHAIR! It's a lose-lose situation. If you beat the dude down, you're the guy who beats up the handicapped. If you get beat down, you lost a fight to a guy in a wheelchair. I'm not saying there aren't athletic guys in wheelchairs. I'm just saying there's a good reason you never see a wheelchair guy fighting in the MMA. My guess is, your first move would have to be to tip the chair. Anyway, I'm getting off subject.

So, after the guy asked if I had a problem, the security guard came over and separated us. It was at this point, I realized that the 30 or so people in the lobby had just watched me go at it with a dude in a wheelchair.

I didn't do anything wrong, though!

my first thought: is this an electric wheelchair, or did he have a bluetooth, or how exactly was this possible?



my second thought: i really really really really can't stand when handicapped people are dicks about their handicap. for some reason blind people at my college were the most arrogant SOBs you'll ever meet, and were even downright mean at times. of course, you aren't allowed to say anything to them, so it was just allowed. just like the mildly retarded kid i went to high school with, who just went around picking fights and vandalizing things, and was therefore labeled a sweetheart by the teachers....

if the issue is the guys in a wheelchair i can say ya probly are lucky the fight was broke up

the most dangerouse guy i know, grand master volrath is in a chair, 20th degree black belt (grand master) of like 38 styles 10th degree of maybe 12 more and ayt least black belt of practicly every known style

point is...ya tip the chair and your done for...in fact, if he knew howto fight hed be dependoing on ya tryin..

also on the subject of walmart, what is the purpose of paying someone to stand there and say hi to everyone that walks through the door? all it does is make me feel obligated to stop whatever i was saying or thinking about and say hi back to the old bastard

I'd say if the guy has been in the wheelchair his whole life, he probably wasn't taught any better. I find that people who are dicks about their handicap LEARNED to be dicks about their handicap.
They were treated "special" instead of being treated like everyone else. It's a shame.

If they guy is in a wheelchair because he was recently in an accident or something, then he may just be a dick.

Bottom line, it isn't your job to educate people about manners. And don't pick fights with handicap people. Would you threaten a little old granny too? You're just going to end up in jail. Walk away.

On the plus side at least you hear them back up if they put their fat ass in one of those.

dude has made several threads about his angry run ins with people, this is rather tame by his standards. but yeah, its fake, everything dude posts is fake, to see what kind of responses hell get. it hsa spawned a few good rants by working folk, but its not exactly deep thought stuff
