How does Ron Paul hate women exactly?

 

He votes against things that give women the right to do whatever they want with their reproductive organs. As a woman, that offends me.

 

Turning that into "hating women" seems like a bit of a stretch then. Wouldn't that be more of a simple disagreement with some women (and men)?

 

Nah. It's a deal breaker for me. Many of his views do not line up with mine. But that one is the icing on the cake.

I notice that you have no opposition to me calling Hilary "tangible evidence of evil", interesting.

I distrust ALL politicians. Especially ones that are power hungry enough to run for president.

eta- people dig Ron Paul because he is in favor of a smaller more hands-off govt, yet he votes against giving women the right to choose for themselves. It's hypocritical.

 

The Hillary one was vague enough that I wasn't curious about it.

I think Ron Paul's views may or may not be hypocritical, it's a matter of opinion. (This has been debated to death on the Politics forums) If he believes that life begins at conception, then it would not be hypocritical to want to protect that life. If he does not believe that, then it would be hypocritical to not give a woman the right to choose.

Given that he was a physician, he's probably formed a personal opinion on the matter at some point.

i see it as a lack of understanding. Paul thinks that by outlawing abortion, he is protecting babies, when in reality, he is just forcing women to have have illegal abortions in unsafe settings. drugs are illegal and more people are using them than ever. it's just narrow and backward as far as i can tell.

Sorry Cate8. I wasn't trying to be offensive, just neutral. Since both sides of the argument seem to feel equally righteous (and enthusiastic) about their position, and we really don't need to get a flame war going in RT over it, I was simply trying to avoid turning this into a pro-choice/life thread.
