Hey Everyone Does anyone know anything about the Ocala Rainbow Gathering in February? Anyone planning to go? Kelly
Well, it isn't like a real gathering, and the cops are like sharks, i paid a 50 dollar federal parking ticket for a 45 sec turn around while i was parking. Over time Ocala has become the "Ocala Party In The Woods", & not a rainbow gathering, take your chances. Oh, & plan on freezing weather, bring winter clothes, Blankets & panchos, i am not jokeing. I have slept with my dog in my sleepingbag so he did not freeze.
huh? ok theres a few other threads about ocala and yes some years have been like that but this last years was beautiful and back to the way it used to be also i find the weather to be amazing for feb i remember freezing my ass off at several nationals due to the altitude but ocala is hot during the day might get kinda chilly at night but not usualy i prepare for all weather at all gatherings were you in utah in july in 2 feet of snow? i'm going for sure!!!!!! i love ocala even when it was kind a rough gathering just cause of the warmth mid winter but i have very very fond memmories of many ocala gatherings..and soso memmories of a few but i feel this years will be as good as last years which i unfortunately missed
Beware! Killer bees have arrived Africanized honey bees have arrived in Indian River County, and residents must be aware of them to avoid potentially being swarmed by the aggressive insects, according to a University of Florida entomologist. Full Story ยป
read it again..16 deaths in 17 years..and your trying to scare ppl off based on 1 death a year in the whole country?
I have frozen in some of Daytona Bike week and thats 1first week of march . can get quite cold at night and early morning . jan / feb can hit freezing point.
come on usa in decline ocala has hundreds of piosionouse spiders, scorpions and....yup..alligators..hundreds of aligators right on site..but has there ever been 1 problem? quite trying to scare people hell ive had rattlesnakee dens 5 feet from my tent at many gatherings the woods everrywhere got dangers..be aware of em sure..fear em? hell no!!
Is not about dying but avoiding being stung . a small child could get in trouble much faster if he wonders off a bit .
soaringeagle i been thru all that crap on 3 wheel ATV in the 80s for a couple of years "every weekend" .
far more likely to get in trouble by swimming in the aligator ponds wouldnt ya think? still hasnt happened the swarm of bees is pretty well tracked, if it pressented a very real danger dont you think council would make the right decision to move or find other ways to deal with it? we've been doing gatherings a loooong time.. dont ya think by now we know what we're doing enough to not put opur family in serius danger?
any sweats atracts bees . sugar , open watermelons, even sodas in cups. This bees are more agressive . what ever theres any in ocala well have to be check out.
nope i didnt..and we're not in the everglades are we? all i was saying is we've dealt with alot of dangers at every single gathering and come out of every one just fine
theres a hell of azlot more open sodas in the trash outside any mcdonalds..lol and, ofcourse it will be checked out..like i said..we've been doing this a very long time and we take everything into concideration and we'd never put family in harms way needlessly have alittle faith
well true = The most dangerus thing to do is actually driving anywhere if we are going to split hairs.
Ocala is a little further South than I am, but I don't recall seeing many bees around in February. Not a concern at all.
I'm in Connecticut and I'm trying to get a ride down to OCALA, I'm right of 95, If anybody is planning to go past me, or near me, I really could use a ride if there is extra space, I don't have any money, I'm leaving a really bad situation or at least working on it so I could use a ride, but I am in no way against flying signs. I need to get away and if any family is passing my way that would be awesome Peace Love Life Mallory Ann
