i just got off the shot about 4 months ago.....and well no period yet! whats wrong!? i need it back i am feeling really bloated!
It took me six months after my last Depo shot to get a period back. And I felt like shit the entire time. I gained 40 lbs while on Depo, and I only am 5 ft tall and have never been over 110 lbs before! you may be fertile, though. I get pregnant after only a few months after my periods finally started again, so don't have sex unprotected, unless you want to get pregnant. Talk to the doc who gave you the shot. They can actually give you a drug called "Provera" which you take for 5 days and then you will get a period within a week, but they don't like to use it unless it is really neccesary. Your lining in your uterus was really thinned while you were on the Shot, so there isn't much lining to shed, plus it takes womyn at least 6 months to get thier estrogen working properly again. (Depo supresses estrogen as well as several other homones involved in ovulation and menstruation.) Have a little patience, or maybe talk to your doc. But 6 months before you menstruate isn't unusual. You may be waiting 3 more months easily.
