. Oh Gentleman, how dost thou see The sad and urgent side of thee? The forlorn chains that bind thy heart Are broken by the strength thou art! Oh Gentleman, how dost thou hear The crashing roar of waters near? Before the dawn the stars did shine On majestic planets betwixt thy mind. What if the chance to find thee here And only for this moment near? And if the path of truth were known Would it were you'd trod alone? Oh Gentleman, how dost thou speak With golden words strong and meek? Belay thy tears, betray thy fears, Stay thy course and grace thy years. . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ .
Craziness! I wrote a poem titled "Oh Woman" very similar to this not to long ago. Feel free to check it out: http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=412361&f=24
This is excellent work, with a nice lyrical flow. There are not nearly enough pieces written today in the older English forms. I love it.
