So I germinated a seed a few weeks ago and planted it after a week. Got a indoor plant bulb and make sure it gets about 16 hours of light and remaining 8 in complete darkness. This morning things were great, but after class it was all bent over and didn't look too hott. I did move the light about an inch closer, would that do this? It was so healthy, but now I'm not sure it'll make it. :( help me

a picture of the setup and plant would make it easier to diagnose

are you over or under watering the plant?

    how tall is it?

how far away is the light?

are you using potting soil or dirt from outside?

It could have fallen over if the stem isnt strong enough to support the leaves

here is what it looked like this after class yesterday.

I'm not sure if I'm over watering, i usually water it with that white thing once a day. As long as the soil is moist.

    It's about 3/4 inch tall.

Light is about 8-9 inches away.

    Potting soil.

That might be why. how do i fix it?

    strange..

these plants only need to be watered once every few days. the top of the soil may be dry, but if you stick you finger in the soil and its still moist, it doesnt need watering

what kind of bulb are you using? not a standard incandescent, right?

the temp should be no more than 82F and no less than 68F (thats about 28C and 20C)

if its not a HID bulb move the light a little closer, about 3-4 inches away

make sure you dont add any fertilizers yet, wait two or three weeks before you add ferts or it could kill the plant

im not sure what the problem is, im just spitting out possibilities

    i know :(

the bulb i'm using is a compact fluorescent 18w, which equals 100w for a std bulb.

sometimes my room gets kinda chillin around 63 or so so that might be it.

it just keeping getting worse. it looked so good just 36 hrs ago. I did add a little fertilizer to the soil after i planted it. so maybe that's the murder.

thanks for all the help. i'll just keep giving it tlc.

yea when the plants are young like that they cant handle the fertilizer yet

give it a lil prop up with a toothpick and hope for the best

    let us know what happens
