I laugh at it because I think it's ridiculous that Jim Morrison is an idol to people. Really, Kurt Cobain is prolly a better one.

^^^ If you idolize him because of his ability to write lyrics that's great, but other than that he isn't really that great of a person. Just a drunk who couldn't control himself.

 

That's still not great, his lyrics were so pompous and wannabe at times, and just not that special others.

 

How can you actually say "wannabe" when your not him? You weren't even alive back then so how would you be able to know what would be "real" or a "poser" thing to do?

Art, though it has had it's trends, always has had certain standards and technique to it. His reeked of 'hey, this is how I be an artist, right?'
That has nothing to do with the culture of the times.

And art is also about the viewer's perception of it, not only the artist's intention. Even if he really wasn't trying too hard, just that to me it seemed that he was trying to hard, his art has failed to reach me; so I don't see what being him has to do with anything either.

 

Who care's about "art". I listen to music man. I don't disect every little piece of the fuckin' band.

Fuck, go listen to some SLAYER, there's some fuckin' art for ya!
