One of my FB friends is a fan of the RSPCA...

For those of us who isn't british the RSPCA is a governmental department that deal with ensuring the welfare of animals and have the power to prosecute people who abuse them.

So yeah my mate joined this group, it came up on facebook just now.

But the thing that I cannot get my head round is this. He did a PhD in animal testing/vivisection at university and used to boast about killing rats by picking them up by the tail and slamming them down on a hard surface.

Perhaps he has seen the error of his ways?

I'm considering dropping him from my list, I don't really like him anyway.

 

Maybe he just grew up. People tend to do a lot of stupid things and sometimes they just stop and decide to do something else.

 

There's a colony of rats somewhere in the buddhist temples in Asia that systematically destroy rats to keep their population under control. Even rats know about the dangers of overbreeding.
Violence against rats?
Who honestly cares.

 

i don't like rats.

 

Does he seem like he's less of an asshole now? Sometimes people change.

Or he could be one of those people who believe that cute little puppies deserve protection against cruelty and suffering but not other animals.

 

i don't want people who squash rats with glee and baseball bats for fun to be my neighbor, but i still don't care about animal testing on rats. i tried, but then i had kids and turned vicious. like a comedian once explained, i'd personally hook a rat's ass up to a car battery if it was gonna save my kid. obviously an exageration, but still.

Why Not Just Send Him An Email, Introduce Yourself, Then Ask Him Why
