Curious to hear who has tried online dating websites (and, if so, what your experiences were). I've been generally quite skeptical of internet dating as a whole simply because I have always assumed most dating sites are populated primarily by fat, balding dudes sulking in their mom's basement. Heard a few more success stories lately, though, so I'm wondering if my assumptions are out of date. The other day I came across an interesting article on online dating and whether it's better than offline dating... it answered some of my questions. Original article is here, but, for those too lazy to read the full thing, here are their conclusions): In other words, online dating is a good place to meet people but doesn't guarantee that the people you meet will be any more compatible than those you might meet at a bar (or wherever). So, online dating... yay or nay?
I didn't see this thread until today, lol. Well, I'm in an online relationship with someone at the moment. The website we met on wasn't really considered as a "dating site" by a lot of its users, but some sites have described it as such. In truth, it is generally used as a place to meet people who share the same interests you have, more so in a broad sense. Prior to that, I gave a more conventional dating site a try for a bit. I didn't really like it though, because girls on there rarely talked to me. I have a friend who met her now-husband on this site though, so I guess it works for some people. The way I see it, whatever works for you, really. If you found your soulmate on a dating site, then that's great. If you found him/her offline in a more conventional setting, then great. If you found him/her on a website, not necessarily a dating one, then great.
Yeah I tried plentyoffish met a few girls almost met a couple in real life even... but no I didn't meet them.. You are more likely to find someone on this site Im pretty sure I was just more of a douchbag when I did sign up for these sites I wasn't a douchebag really just needed a haircut and you know was looking online for chicks I mean its good to broaden your "horizon" so to say, but yeah it shouldn't be your last or only resort you gotta go out there and have something to give to society and be worth something. Also tried okcupid,, there were classier girls but I would fuck that one up mostly because I had scroteyy ass pics of myself haha must not have wanted the chicks that bad back then to begin with... Had no idea what I wuzz missun..
