yeah not like we were gonna just grab the top guy and be done. thats iraq, not afghanistan... oh wait
I know. What I mean is, Osama was the figure used to represent the organization, and the "war" was started under the context that it was revenge for what Al Qaeda did, as planned by Bin Laden. Given that Bin Laden disappeared so easily and was "able" to escape capture by the most advanced/powerful organization on the plantet (the US military) it would really make one wonder about Bin Laden's involvement in the event. If he wasn't involved, why was he linked to the event? If he wasn't involved, who was giving orders that day? Who planned the event? If he wasn't invloved, perhaps Al Qaeda wasn't involved either.
As I've mentioned he most likely dead. Why isn't the public demanding that the military dig up every remote spot in Afghanistan to produce a skeleton? There would be no body left after 9 years. and the search would probably produce no results no matter how drastic of a waste of resources it would be. It seems unrealistic in my eyes, and that's why I suspect most people aren't demanding it. The war based on his existence was the Afghanistan war in which he resided at the time, protected by genocidal despots actively protecting him and almost certainly in cahoots with him. . Iraq had nothing to do with Bin Laden. it was about forward deployment, resource procurement, and personal vendettas of politicos fed off the public's general paranoia at the time. I don't support the war, but it doesn't directly relate with the topic does it?
An identity can be found from a skeleton. It would give people, especially the friends and loved ones of those who were killed that day, some closure. I don't know, perhaps if I knew the personal agenda of those politicos I could better answer the question.
whether he is dead or not, there is no reason to support a massive search for the body unless people want to privately sponsor such search. and even then, no one will sponsor that money because all you're doing is burning it for no good cause
He claimed responsibility for the attack on behalf of the organization. If you can keep from touching money you can pretty much disappear from government radar. They supposedly have the guy who planned it, kalhid sheik whatever. You may be stretching the boundaries of credible inquiry here.
He hid in caves halfway across the world from the United states which had no naval deployment and initially only sent in special forces to secure the capital and conduct anti Taliban missions. It wasn't until three months after the invasion that the Tora Bora campaign was completed. I think you're vastly overestimating the ease of finding someone who had been hiding in vast mountain ranges for months crawling with guerrilla warfare. Escobar hid for a decade that way. He was much closer and living in opulence in the Mountains with a government supporting the assassination efforts. Your 'point' is only conjecture.
Sure, assuming a body could be found, if there are Bin Ladens dental records or blood samples on file somewhere they could identify it. There could be that information somewhere, I have no idea.
I don't believe the Afghani government has any kind of record keeping in that sense. And when it comes to a body, think about how huge Afghanistan is and how much of it is desert...there is a very good possibility his body is buried in the sand somewhere decomposing, or already decomposed to the point of not being able to identify it.
Bin Laden was on Renal Dialysis. He would have had to be near fairly sophisticated treatment or be dead. It shouldn't be hard to get DNA from the various sites he used before 9/11. Finding his desicated old hide would be a real trick though. And No Doubt, his followers would do a Hitler style trick and obliterate the body in order to keep his myth alive after his ass was dead. Also like Hitler and Elvis there will be sighting all over hells half acre. People gonna believe what they want to about him. Good Boogey men never really die...they live on in their legends.
From what I've read, no one here is saying Bin Laden was "made up" or imaginary. I personally simply believe that he was not the mastermind behind 9/11 that most would have us believe he was.
He faded from the radar as he served his purpose. He was used to instill fear and put a face to an enemy which granted the powers that be the right to change the freedoms and rights of every citizen. He served the agenda of others. I would imagine he is dead, that would also not serve their purpose to have that confirmed.
So Lunar, just outta curiosity, where did the plot originate? Despite how wretched it was, the idea was damn good. It was perhaps the final nail in what we once believed America was. So who did come up with the idea? I don't have any thoughts or feelings on it one way or another as to whether Bin Laden was the mastermind. It was devious beyond belief. And Bin Laden was absolutely perfect as a scapegoat with that satanic look he has...real easy to hate that fucker. Like most here I doubt the truth will ever be known by the masses of people. At least not for decades.
I don't know to be honest. There's just too many things that indicate certain people within the American government and military had previous knowledge of what was going to happen. I'm not going to get into it, it's a very tired subject, and those who are not willing to conform to the given story are simply written off as conspiracy theorists, 10 times out of 10. But between military defence being called off, the collapsing of buildings (especially building 7 - look into what kind of information was stored in building 7) and other things here and there, I'm inclined to not believe that it was simply an attack by an outside terrorist organization. As for the topic of whether the buildings were demolished or not, who gives a shit, what really matters is who flew the planes into the buildings. Whether the buildings had collapsed that day or not, a terrible crime was committed in the name of political motive, financial gain, concealing the truth and stripping Americans from their freedom and right to privacy. If terrorists flew the planes into the buildings, they'd have a hell of a lot less to gain from their collapse than if certain American organizations were behind it. Though purely speculation, it's a fact.
Honestly all it would take to convince me that 9/11 was perpetrated by the government would be a single leaked document or high profile admissions of conspiring by former officials, or several other sorts of at least almost incontrovertible proof. I don't think there's any specific information which could be presented to a 9/11 truther that would dissuade them. In that sense it's much like a religion.
Yea, blind faith that rests upon a shakey story told as "the truth". Both accounts of who's responsible are equally as unreliable.
Or perhaps it was the moles. Look at the facts. One: Moles are bad people. Infact, they aren't even people. They're molemen. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0049516/ Two: moles borrow underground, providing the perfect unnoticeable sabotage to place large amounts of explosives underneath the twin towers. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnX9gw8N_BI"]YouTube - Burrowing Mole Three: Talpids such as moles have oposable digits similar to thumbs making them capable of flying an airplane. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talpidae Four: Moles are almost blind, explaining the unsuccessful crash of flight 93. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/10/081020191534.htm Five: The 9/11 attack caused an economic panic which led to many people buying physical assets such as mole skin hats. This benefited the mole slave trade. Six: The events which followed 9/11 led to many holes in Afghanistan from bombing. Moles like holes.
