Looking forward to this coming Friday. Traveling to Cleveland OH to see Ozric's live. Next to Porcupine Tree this is probably my next favorite band. Anyone know of other bands that produce a similar sound? I'll give you all a full report on the show.

Love the Ozrics, I'll be seeing them next Wednesday in SF! A bit curious to see how the lineup change is working out though...
Other bands with a similar sound? Hm, well there's always groups like Gong and Kraan-- big influences on the Ozrics, especially visible in their earlier material. As far as other Ozric-sounding groups go... Try some groups like Melting Euphoria and Hidria Spacefolk; if you really want to find other spacerock groups though, try this website-- you'll get turned on to all kinds of sick stuff:

Hope this helps, enjoy the show!

My mate at Uni loves Ozric, but I haven't really listened to them myself that intently... hes showed me loads of bands and I forget which ones are which. He's also into some great bands like Sigur Ros and Do Say Make THink which you might like... check em out!

I adore Ozric Tentacles. :D I saw them live in the end of January and they just rocked my socks.

Sigur Rós is amazing too, definitely check it out!

The concert was great overall. They had a band named Lotus open for them and they were good. The Ozric's were having lots of trouble getting the sound adjusted right. You couldn't even hardly hear the flute player during the first half of their set. This was the first time I've seen the Ozric's live and I did enjoy the show. It was well worth the $20 bucks to see them live and I would do it again.

Glad to hear it went well... I've often had difficulty picking out John's flute from the rest of the swirling chaos when I've seen/heard them live. Looking forward to checking out the new lineup changes (bass/drums/synth) on Wednesday!

Eat Static is an Ozric side project (Merv and Joey from original Ozrics), which is the most similar i have heard to Ozric... less instrumental, and more electronic influenced but i think Eat Static is even better... the albums De-Classified and the newest one, Back To Earth are both really good albums. If you like Ozrics, this is a good band to check out... They were supposed to play Waka 09 (Eat Static) but cancelled, so they braught Praang instead (even better...Praang is Jamie and Michael T. from Zilla, along with Jason Hann - SCI, and Steve Kimock - guitar... fantastic stuff on iclips.net from praang...)
