I'm about to rent a P.O. box. I would have done it today but couldnt locate my birth certificate in time. The reason I'm getting one is because unfortunatly i live with my parents and they have caught on to me ordering RC's so I can no longer order them to my house cuz my parents will check the package. I have never had a P.O box before so I don't really know anything about them and that's why I made this thread. For one what size box do I need. I was going to rent an 11in x 5.5x. That should hold most packages RC's would come in right? Something the size of a manilla envelope should be no problem but how deep is it? The post office I will get the box from is in a town I've never heard of. It's probably a 20min or so drive out of the city, past the burbs and all that shit, the ones in the city are about twice as expensive so thats why. Luckily I can use the highway for most of the trip so I don't have a big chance of being pulled over with the shit. One last thing is what would they do If they suspected a package cuz it looked suspicious they wouldnt call the cops would they? I'm trippin a little now so I may just be paranoid about the cops but still.
The mailbox is likely 11" deep. You know better than us what size your packages have been / are likely to be. So you have the info you need to make that decision. Nothing has really changed in regards to their suspicions and calling the cops. You're more or less in the same boat you were in when you ordering them to your house. Either way, the answer is "No, you do not have my permission to search the car. " Period, end of story. The way you worded your comment leads me to believe that you are likely to be one of the suckers who actually lets a cop search your car. Do not do this, regardless of whether you have anything on you or not.
I would never just let a cop search my car. I know my way around the legal system but the problem is in my experience I tend to run into cops that WILL search my car whether I say they can or not, its bullshit but they will find a way, I've had them say they saw a "weed stem" through my window once and automatically searched my car cuz It was probable cause. The "weed stem" turned out to be a peice of grass. Fuck the police!
The risk of a package being investigated for "looking suspicious" is the same whether you get it to your PO box or your house, methinks. Same number of people dealing with it, instead of a postman you have a guy putting it in your box.. but once it's in there it's gonna be forgotten about. I do think it'd help if you get mail other than your special packages to the box, though. Try to find some other legitimate use for it, preferably one that involves getting mail from over the country.
You might have a problem opening a box with an ID that says you're from a different city. If you say "I just moved here" they MIGHT tell you to get an updated address, then get a box. They might not care though.
see it is about a 20min drive out of the city w/o traffic and probably speeding. The thing is that in the city this size box is $88-100 vs. $38 out there. Not sure why. Should I just wait till I have enough money to get the P.O. box in town because a few things trip me out. For one after I exit the highway to go to this proposed out of town postoffice I must take a 2way 2lane road the rest of the way. I don't think there are any intersections along it, there may be one. It is faily long. The reason this is an issue is because my paranoid ass can imagine leaving the post office with my shit and somehow a cop get behind me and have him behind me the whole way cuz theres nowhere that I can turn off or w/e. I think really small town cops are worse than in the city because there's not as many people per unit area to watch which means one person/car draws more attention. Atleast thats what my dad told me. Now assuming the worst did happen and I got pulled over on that road and had the package...if they somehow got probable cause to search my car (i've had cops pull some bullshit before too) and searched it...could they open and search my package? I'm probably not going to order anything scheduled soon but I'm already involved in the legal system and dont wanna fuck up and get revoked b/c of another charge even though that charge probably wouldnt hold it would be a fuckin miserable bullshit hassle.:dupe: I hope we win the drug war one day

I think you're too paranoid about unscheduled stuff which by itself is not illegal. Unless you had an envelope with a powder open (it's a felony to open someone's mail, right? So don't open it on the road) and that bag out with a mirror and a straw or a scale and some pill capsules, then there is no crime committed. They would have to prove intent to consume, and they would have to know what it is anyways, so don't carry paraphenelia around. Maybe I'm reckless. Yes, I'm reckless. But, don't take this to mean that I am not aware of all the current security precautions... I would only be paranoid about a scheduled substance. I mean, yea I'm paranoid picking up something legal even, but it's not valid since it's legal and I'm not going to the post office with a mirror and straw and emptying that shit out by the PO box and doing a line!

well I went ahead and bought the box online, i just have to show up in person on monday to get the keys and shit. $38 beats the hell out of payin $100 so to me it worth the drive. I think Ill be fine as far as getting pulled over and shit. I'll just do like I always do when im holdin which is don't speed at all, break absolutely no traffic laws, keep my windows up and don't do anything that will distract me and make me drive shitty. As a side note I once had a cop follow me FOREVER right on my ass and I had coke on me I was so nervous I almost ate it but I didnt fuck up so he couldnt pull me over. I know he was trying cuz I was in the hood, he knew exactly what I was doin there at that time in the morning.

word. they're not technically supposed to do that but in my experience they sometimes play dirty. I don't think im gonna worry about it though. I scouted out the area twice and didnt see any cops at all. Unlike in my town where sometimes flash their lights and siren on a street for no reason. I don't know why the fuck they do that I guess just to scare the fuck out of people or so nothing goes down. This usually happens mostly in certain less desirable neighborhoods though/ known drug areas I guess.
