So I was reading up about this kid on the internet today. Anyone have any thoughts? Or even know who he was?
Oops, yeah, I better change my is to a was. Also, what do you think about it? I only found out today because Bezhin Meadow is on the front page of Wikipedia.
The Soviets were well-known for inciting fear in their people to inspire loyalty, well, as far as loyalty can be inspired in this way. Tales of people turning in blood relatives, colleagues, friends etc in this time are plentiful. What exactly is it you're asking for thoughts on?
well.. my country's closer to Russia than Croatia. I don't know. I just know I heard about it, I know about this super young boy Pavlik. It's a kind of a legend in the Czech rep. What I think about it... well, what can I think? This is a brilliant example of the soviet communistic propaganda. It's like that story about Meresjev, Russian pilot, whose plane fell down to the enemy's area, he lost his leg, arm whatever, but decided to get back home. He learned how to live with a pegleg and continued on being a pilot. There's a book about him, the author's named Boris Polevoj. Every child in the communist regime had to know this book, cause Meresjev was simply the best.
