People talk about themselves too much.

So many people on here wonder why they don't get attention that others get. I think it's because they're too busy talking about themselves and not unique, interesting topics.

Want people to pay attention to you? Drop the whiny bullshit and talk about something interesting.

i am not very interesting and yes i do talk about myself a lot here as to not talk about myself as much in real life. i wouldnt want people thinking i'm conceited or something! or maybe i just dont care!

 

Make every thread you start about how sad your life is and how bad people pick on you. Then make excuses in every post where somebody makes a logical point. Should help.

It's not about the people who talk about themselves when the discussion calls for one to speak about themselves. And it's not about people talking about themselves when they have a related story etc. Just about people who flood this place with whiny bullshit and wonder why people become disinterested.

 

Funny you should say that. My original thought was to post "Not everything is about you, you know".

I'd say almost everything is kind of about you. Good compromise?

Unfortunately youre wrong, at least in my experience. The people who whine about how they stubbed their toe earlier or how they bought the wrong brand of mustard or their hair was cut too short are actually the ones who are adored in this forum.

I had a friend who kept telling me all kinds of stories and things about her acquaintances who I had never met, seen or heard of. Why would I be interested in shit about people I don't know? People like that are worse than people who tell you about themselves.

And she said I was being indifferent when I wouldn't reply any way but "Cool."

People who open up to you at parties after you've known them for 23 minutes are also swell.
