People who's avatars are the same

You know how sometimes you recognize who someone is on here almost by their avatar?
And then have you ever been reading a post and you think it's by a certain person (avatar) and then you realize it's someone else w same avatar?
That happens to me all the time... mostly w the punk one. Seamonster used to use that one and then for the longest time suicide mike's posts would look like Gary's posts to me...
and then comes kinky Ramona w it and I don't know WHO is posting...
(that said that is prolly my fav avatar on here)

It happens to me as well...I've started trying to pay attention to the signatures and user names rather than the avatar. I totally get what you are saying.

 

Haha yeah... sometimes I'll read a post or two by a person and be sittin here thinkin "how freaking ODD that so n so posted THAT".... and then I go and look but it's the same avatar but not them. Doh.


(ohhh! but watch relying on sigs too... because some ppl actually have sigs that look very, very similar. that almost messed me up before too hah)

I get most thrown when the avatars are shared by people of opposite gender.....especially in the kinky threads...throws you right off when you are thinking its the female making the comment and then you realize its not!

 

I once was scrolling through a thread and saw an avatar like mine. I thought it was weird that I didn't remember making that post and then realized it wasn't actually me. Pity, I thought the comment was quite briliant. Was a bit of a letdown.

That used to happen to me but I've had sig pics and avatars turned off for a while so I just see usernames now.
It'd be cool to be able to have our own custom avatar (does this happen if you become a hipforums supporter? cuz I'm thinking of doing that), there aren't that many default avatars to choose from..

 

Pretty sure no one has my avatar. But there have been times I've gotten confused by others - to now I've been able to notice before I respond, luckily.

 

I have no idea rainy. I don't know if it's just supporters who can do it or any senior member?

mcfuddy... haha yea luckily I stopped myself and re-read post and saw the NAME before replying... which I may not have done if I wasn't sitting there thinking "that was a strange post for him to have written"...

 

Defiantly had times where its like geez that member doesn't usually write things like this, oh wait its diffferent person. Had some times too, where Im like damn when did I write this, and again not the same person..

 

I do get mixed up when people use this avatar, or the anon' mask, and sometimes with the Bradley Manning. I can guarantee we'll probably not agree on certain issues, though It doesn't take a long time not to be mixed up, though.

 

That is why I recently settled on the snake. Everyone else was using the Cosmic Forest and the Freakish Elf ones I like.

 

It isn't confusing if the person has a a large signature picture. My eyes tend to go up and down rather than side to side.

 

What is annying even more, is when people change their sig. Can't recognize them anymore...

 

On my old screen name, I was both a 'senior member' with something like 17k posts, and a supporter, but I don't remember which one gave me access to unique avatar (I believe it's supporter, and that senior member only allows you to change your 'title' under your screen name). I forget what my avatar was... Sailor Moon screaming, perhaps? That is still my AIM avatar after all these years, lol.
