My period has never been in sync with the moon phases, which I thought its supposed to. I just stopped taking the BC pill, and I'm wondering, how can I achieve getting my cycle in sync with the moon, or is it even important to?
i think the natural way is for women to live tribally . itsa commonly reported that women who live closely will mense together and then , also , the moon is a good-togetherness light for them . could you honor the moon by turning off the electric ?
that's cool, good advice. i read somewhere once that our cycle is supposed to go with the moon but we screwed that up with artificial lights and falling out of tune with it.
i read somewhere that originally that's how it was, but that we messed up our systems somehow... i dunno
when the women are in sync they'd quite naturally gather in the mense hut , drink tea , converse . they could speak of their power because its communal responsibility is great . when?how many? babies shall be received and supported by the tribe ... ? together in concious harmony wise women control the size of the group . can a modern society do this ? wisely ? in a way that does not hurt the heart nor poison its daughters with pills ?
Maybe in a tribal society where people lived outdoors, they'd vary their activities according to how much light there was, and that rhythm would give the hormones just enough kick to get women to sync up with the moon. And of course if the women were living close together, they'd all tend to have periods at the same time. But would humans have evolved so women would ovulate (most fertile) at full moon when people could find each other easily at night? Or would it be better to ovulate at the new moon, so couples could slip away from the campfire without the whole tribe noticing?
In much of Europe, the evening prior to the longest day of the year was a fertility festival, celebrated with singing, dancing and bonfires, after the festivities, in some countries young men and women were expected to find a companion, then wander off together into the woods to begin courtship or to deepen an existing courtship. In some places women gathered flowers, reading them in some fashion to predict who would be their mate. On the coasts in spring, many sea creatures follow the rising tides inland to mate in the shallows. On warm spring nights, such nights work their magic on human hearts as well.
That is what I think. Most people don't spend enough time outside to line up with the moon. During the summer and fall when I am outside almost all of the time my period does line up with the moon and as I go inside it gradually gets out of sync.
'the red tent' by anita diamant is a nice fictional depiction of this lifestyle that no longer exist.
I really wish women could still gather together and just be by themselves during the cycles if we wanted to. But unfortunately jobs and school interfer with that. I have to admit that I kind of hate the sight of men during my period. But I can control it for the most part.
Tell that to my school! "Sorry, I have to take the next week of school off so that I can just hang out with my girl friends"
Please excuse me if this seems grossly inappropriate and off topic, but in my experience women tend to be pretty danged horny during thier period, they just need a man that "doesn't mind"... ZW
I have heard this from some women. I personally have NO interest in sex during my period. Cramps and nausea do not make me feel horny at all. My boyfriend always wants to have sex during my period but I have to turn him down and make it up to him in other ways
