Jennings is a corrupt piece of garbage and lung cancer should be consided poetic justice!

Ah well for one thing the mainstream media use and exploit the misfortunes of others for their own self gratifying gain.

They instigate and provoke situations in order to create "newstories"

The pigs shy away from situations involving wrong doing amongst themselves then hound and hound and hound some unfortunate bastard and turn some non-important issue into a mega-dollar business within a business for themselves to leech off of until the well runs dry.

I can see wishing impotence or permant digestive disfunction , hell even acid reflux on someone for being a news anchor, but lung cancer, shit that's short sighted, if the people choose to listen to lies it's their fault, not the liars, the liar does have a certain pennance to be paid but geez that is low

My opinion of newscasters and the media in general is pretty low, and I could care less about poor Peter Jennings and his lungs.

 

My point is that it's cruel to wish it upon someone. I'm an advocate of freedom of the press, and I have a fair amount of respect for Jennings. Unlike the other big name newscasters, he wasn't a rich boy who landed a job at ABC because his uncle worked there. Jennings is the ONLY national newscaster who has a GED instead of a high school diploma.

Of course the media is scummy, but that isn't the fault of the newscasters, but the people who produce the slime, and those who support it. Peter Jennings hasn't done anything that hideous that I'm aware of.

 

OMGZ! Like he wrote a book about the WWII generation and how the little people who like, couldn't go fight the germans after they bombed Pearl Bailey, like stayed home and kept America running and now he deserves testicular cancer and daily enemas and prostate exams and stuff...

He's a talking head! He doesn't make the news, he doesn't even WRITE the news. He's a pretty boy with nice hair and believable eyes and his job is to read whatever is put in front of him or get fired for having his own ideas (like Dan Rather). This is like that Chris Rock routine about the looters screaming "THE MEDIA IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS!!!" I didn't see Ted Koppel running down the street with no color TV under his arm, ass...

And for your information, my mother died of lung cancer three summers ago. Ever seen what happens to a person in end stage? You're an ass for wishing that on ANYONE. Let me shave your head and starve you until you weigh 80 pounds. It's a real attractive look.

Did anyone see that report he did on MDMA? He basically challenged the DEA/FDA and forced them to change all the false information they had published on the issue in light of new, credible, science. It was an hour long special campaigning to legalize ecstacy, and perhaps other psychedelics, for theraputic use. I am not saying that he is perfect, or completely free from outside influence, but tackling the federal government like that during a republican administration was no small feat!

But yeah, back to the original subject, my mother had cancer too. It was absolutely horrible to watch.
