Actually Gym's can cause problems with full body strength and flexibility of movement as too much isolation lifts is not a good thing to do. Better off using Free Weights...running and playing Tennis. TooReal
$10 is actually really good, it's about $20+ per week in Australia at least where I live. My missus was with a gym with a discount and it was still $60 a month I just can't see the justification, another social service stripping me butt naked of all the money I make and they keep taking it.
You are correct as what has happened is my explanation of what I eat daily has slipped into the method a person attempting to LOSE WEIGHT...must achieve a state of Ketosis which means NO CARBS...and you are very right an 8 oz glass of O.J. is a BIG no no. It take takes depending upon person 4 to 7 days...average being 5 days to achieve Ketosis and at this point their body is only burning Stored Body Fat and a person no longer feels hungry. At the physicality I currently exist at I can eat several pieces of fruit and drink 8 oz of O.J. and my metabolism is running at more than 5 to 6 times faster than average as well my strength and reflexes and speed is off the chart. Understand....there is confusion here about what a person such as myself should eat and what a person attempting to achieve Ketosis should eat. Let's both understand that issue and move on. TooReal
Well, you can eat carbs on a ketogenic diet, but must keep it below 50 grams per day to be in a fully ketogenic state. Most people will be in and out of ketosis at under 100 grams. You can eat a lot of vegetable carbs, and some fruit carbs, and still maintain ketosis. Also, it does not take 4 to 7 days to achieve ketosis. It's more like a day or two. It's not uncommon for people to wake up in the morning in a mild state of ketosis from fasting as they sleep. Basically fasting for more than 10 or 12 hours will result in some level of ketosis. Becoming keto-adapated is another story. That requires a week or two of being in a state of ketosis. I have been in full, deep ketosis for the last five months. I consume between 25-50 grams of carbs per day. A ketogenic diet is not just for weight loss. It builds muscle, too. I have found that getting fairly ripped has far more to do with diet than time spent in the gym.
OK....I believe that bringing a person who is not used to eating mostly all proteins and fats too fast into a state of Ketosis is not only dangerous as there are many examples of mood swing issues and Gout.......thus I advocate a slower approach. Also....it is not necessary for any person after they have lost the sufficient amount of BOD FAT...as body weight loss is not necessarily what we are going for as Muscle Mass weighs more than Fat....and I have seen 5 foot 2 inch 130 lbs slender muscular women who have a smaller waist then a 5 foot 2 inch 100 lbs female. Because my body exists at about only 4 % body fat....and at 6 foot 2 inches and 238 lbs of muscle....there is no need for me to stay in a state of Ketosis and before I fly out I Carbo Boost anywhere from 20,000 calories in warm weather to 35,000 calories in cold weather 10 Years ago the first Vegan Team Member can on board....I usually hand pick my Team Members but this was a Political thing. He lasted only 16 hours into Day 1 Training before he began to hallucinate and could no longer judge distances. TooReal
Oh....and as far as becoming as you say...Ripped. Body Builders building muscle for mass and not for density as we do...are two different things. We need to be trim and flexible enough to climb ropes, walls, Dive....etc. When I am wearing a button up shirt....compared to so Arnold Mr. Universe wearing a muscle shirt....my muscles do not look as big. But I can still curl over 350 lbs....bench over 525 lbs and leg press 1080 lbs. They cannot. TooReal
I up that to about 6 % after Carbo Boosting. I lift in a manner that is specific to the muscle being as compact or smooth to the bone as possible but having 3 to 5 times average muscle density. TooReal
