I don't get rereading books, I remember the books I read, and if it's fading just hop over to Sparknotes. Revival! I have reread the first books in a series if I intend to finish the series after a couple of years, but then again the only instance of this I can think of is Stephen King's Dark Tower series, which should under no circumstances be finished, I am told. Just like Duma Key, and the Third Season of the Mighty Boosh. For all of these things, I was told going to the end will completely ruin the beginning.
that would so totally depend on the books. mainstream fiction is seldom worth the initial investment of time, regardless of media. REAL science fiction, and of course reference materials are another matter entirely. you can usually extract new and different meanings out of a pile of words you can examine at your leasure. reptition of orchestrated emotion is an excellent method of accelerating the transforming of the little grey cells into undiferentiated grey gooo.
like with almost any show that lasts more than 4 seasons, or any book over 400 pages, or any movie series that goes past 2 movies, or any music career that lasts more than 2 studio albums.
i have found that i can read my hipforums posts over and over again and they just keep getting better and better.
When I read a book I take the analysis as far as possible. I usually without write a couple of essays on what I thought about each book I read... lol. I have tried watching LOST about three different times, because there seems to always be someone who says 'Hey watch lost with me we can make a thing out of it whoop etc bleh', but halfway through the third season I just say fuggit and give up. It would have been an awesome series if they reached into my brain and had the island be a secret genetic testing site, (that is why they need pregnant women and tropical polar bears) instead of creating constant questions they never intend to answer.
Yeah, you have some sort of special post-forming talent, mine always seems terribly stupid after I post them. See you changed yer title thingy-that-I-don't-know-what-it's-called, awesomeness
I actually did see Avatar twice at the cinema... If it's a movie that's taken on a special meaning (i.e bestie and I watch certain movies a lot and laugh and laugh at everything going on and not going on - personal jokes and hard to explain) I can watch them over and over but that's about it. How annoying. I do avoid TV anyway.
My kids when little would do this. The one that drove me insane was Old Yeller. I was so emotionally drained from watching this for months on end. I loved this movie but watching the poor dog and tearing up each time was too much for me. Oddly enough the kids did the same thing and then would put it back on.
I only rewatch movies I enjoyed after a certain period of time. Same with books but that takes even longer since if you remember about 90% it's not fun to read all of it again, in contrary to a movie which rarely takes more than 2 hours.
I'd bet Gigli is better than Avatar. When I have cable, I'll usually watch one movie over and over cause there's nothing else on. Hostage, The Fifth Element, Leaving Las Vegas, Scent of a Woman are examples of this. But on my own, there's only two movies I've ever done this with: Dumb and Dumber, American Psycho. American Psycho is absolutely great stoned.
Dumb and Dumber is a classic. I've watched it like 20 times. Other movies I've watched over 10 times: Christmas Vacation What About Bob? Uncle Buck
I'll admit that I read American Psycho twice :x And I've seen The Fifth Element many times, but that's partially because I have a small crush on Bruce Willis. And the Diva Dance opera thing amazes me. Sounds like Mischief Makers! Anyone play that game? +points if so My little brother watches Dumb and Dumberer overandoverandoverandover.... Now, I am very guilty of playing one song on repeat for weeks at a time. This is probably my equivalent because I'm not much of a movie watcher. And unfortunately, the song I've been playing is... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQS1uIuCn78"]Eminem-My name is...Explicit version - YouTube I don't even know why! lol This is more annoying than playing a movie on loop.
