I'm nineteen and like ninety-eight pounds. I know I'm underweight, but it has never been an issue with my period being regular before, even when I was ten pounds lighter a few months ago. It's always come on the twenty first. Never fails. As of today, I am a whole week late.
I feel nauseated all day and extremely tired. Like, I was sitting down holding my head up the other day and it felt like it was taking every bit of energy I had to keep my head up. Same when I would lift my cigarette to my mouth today. Looking at a picture of some food someone posted on Facebook just made me wanna barf. I feel weak and kinda lightheaded here and there. Yesterday when my boyfriend and I laid down to take a nap, I got that feeling you get when you stand up too fast in my head and I was laying down...weird.
I'm more sensitive to certain smells, hot, and cold. My nose is stuffed/runny. My nipples are sensitive, too. I'm having cramps in my tummy and groin. I also have had headaches that'll be in one spot, not my whole head. They don't last as long as my headaches normally do, but they go away and come back, go away and come back.
I'm not peeing more than usual or anything, I already piss like a pregnant woman as is. I drink a lot of water and have a small bladder. This shouldn't be "tmi" for anyone reading this because it may help you help me figure this out, but if it is I apologize. I've been pooping a little more than usual. No problems with pooping, just going more than once in a day instead of one a day or every other day.
My boyfriend says that he can usually tell when I'm going to start my period because I will smell and taste a little different, not bad, just different. He said I don't smell or taste like I'm going to start anytime soon, which is a little weird to me.

Does anyone have any idea what my deal is? I know being pregnant can cause all these things, but are there other things it could be as well?

Being dangerously underweight can cause most or all of those symptoms.

    Eat something.

That shit can kill you, and WILL shorten your life and cause health problems.

Being underweight has never caused me this much trouble before and I've been underweight my entire life. So I find this rather odd...
I've been eating a bit more lately, but still not up to three meals a day yet. Only because of lack of money, though. Not like I'm trying to be this freakishly skinny.

I also feel kinda bloated like I normally would with my period, if that helps anyone.

Well yes, I mean, you also do sound knocked up.

And if you are and keep it, or even might, it's essential that you take appropriate vitamins and have the correct diet, in the correct amounts, from day one.

It's pretty disturbingly easy to have a kid. Including and especially at your age. Trust me. Whatever you're going to do, do it fucking fast so that whatever the finial outcome, it's what you want and it's done right.

Go to a doctor. Or an abortionist, whatever your flavour. Or even buy a ten dollar test kit. I realize that shit costs money, but money's probably available if you are pregnant, and if it's not, well.... sorry if this sounds harsh, but if you're old enough and stable enough to have sex, you fucking better be old and stable enough and have the resources to deal with the outcome.

I'm taking a pregnancy test tomorrow., you can get 'em at the dollar store. But I wanted to know other possibilities in case that wasn't it. That way I may be able to save myself and the doctor some time if it comes down to it.
I know all the vitamin bull if I am preggo and I most certainly plan on keeping it if that is the case.
I assure you that my boyfriend and I are more than capable of taking responsibility for this if I am pregnant. He has had two children before with his ex wife. I cannot say I'm the most mature, but I consider myself more mature than most my age. If I didn't know what to do, he would. I know my options for help if I'm pregnant, too.

Pretty sure they wouldn't want me on that show. I'm outta high school, will be twenty in July, and don't have enough drama in my life to make it interesting. Lol. I also have no such desire for the extra attention or money. I'd rather earn my money than feed into that crap, but thanks for the thought. Lol.

you do sound preggers. Pretty much every symptom you listed I experienced early on when I was pregnant. The dizziness and tiredness is what made me finally take a test. I remember I would stare at the computer screen at work and the screen would appear slightly off-kilter, and I tried to work out and do push ups and it was just the hardest thing in the world to push my body up. I doubt being underweight has much to do with it - being malnourished from anorexia will definitely mess with your periods but you don't sound anorexic or malnourished, you sound like you're just naturally skinny. I was really naturally underweight until a few years ago and it never messed with my menstrual cycle.

    good luck!

Stress can cause all of those things. But definitely take a pregnancy test.

I have not been under any more stress than usual, in fact, I've been under less. My boyfriend has made me happier than I've been in some years. I'm definitely not anorexic or malnourished, but could not eating enough of the right things cause this? I'm still taking a pregnancy test tomorrow.

Also, I know that just being sick can throw off my period...but it has never once affected it before, not even by just a day. I didn't feel like this until a few days into being late, but is it possible I'm just getting sick and it threw me off?

Its possible. A lot of those symptoms could also be some kind of vitamin deficiency. Although a lot of foods are so enriched these days that even if you aren't eating the greatest diet its possible to avoid any major vitamin deficiency.

I don't know as much as I probably should about health stuff, but I'm anemic if that's the same thing...? If not, that may help with other possibilities. It has also never caused me this much trouble before and I've been anemic my whole life as well.
I've been living off of poptarts, bananas, pomegranates, PB&J, and pasta lately so I may be missing or not getting enough of something.
Oh, and chicken strips when I get to go out to eat. Lol.

you should probably see a doctor

if you don't have money to pay for it, there might be a free or low cost community health center in your area.

also, you might be eligible for medicaid

some, but not all of your symptoms sound similar to what in chinese medicine is called deficient blood

simple dietary recommendations for deficient blood include avoiding raw foods and cold foods and drinks. freshly cooked whole foods should be emphasized

well cooked soupy rice might be helpful

it would be ideal to see an acupuncturist or chinese herbalist. this is often expensive though.

there might be a student clinic near you where you can get discounted services

I plan on seeing a doctor to find out what else it could be if I'm not pregnant and my period hasn't come by Monday.
I've been pretty easily irritated these past couple days and I'm not sure if it's because I'm more tired, that I'm sick, or what.

your diet sucks. it's no surprise that you are having health problems.

you should probably be taking a b12 supplement. I would also recommend cooked carrot, sweet potatoes, well cooked rice, oatmeal, small amounts of turkey, chicken, and beef (especially broths, soups and gravies of these) and a little bit of ginger

other fresh, cooked whole foods served warm might be good too, though I would also recommend giving up the fruit. also the pop tarts, since they aren't very good for you and probably cost quite a bit. you could get better nutritional value with whole foods

My diet sucks because I'm broke. Half the stuff you listed made me wanna barf. Lol. But I will definitely try to add more of the ones I like either way.
Why give up the fruit, it's good for me? And while I agree poptarts are the best for me, they're not very expensive here which is why I eat them. If I get grocery money, it's only about ten dollars so it's the only breakfast food I can afford that will last as long as I need it to and allow me to get other things to last a bit as well.
But wouldn't I have had these issues before now if it were the Chinese blood thingy?

that's part of it. can you get food stamps, or are you getting them now?

there are some cheap foods that are good for you. the pop tarts probably cost $1.99 for a box or more. you could probably get five pounds of potatoes for the same or a little more. or a couple pounds of black beans that you could cook in a pressure cooker. or some carrots, sweet potatoes, a bag of frozen peas, etc.

well from the chinese medicine perspective, no. a little cooked strawberry and cherry might be good for you, but they would probably be expensive

it sounds like you've had symptoms consistent with blood deficiency for a while. anemia in particular, thinness or emaciation, and I think you've also mentioned anxiety.

amenorrhea is also consistent with blood deficiency. you might also have a pale face, tongue, lips, and nail beds, among other things.

your condition might be more complex than just blood deficiency, but it sounds like blood deficiency is at least a component

Problem with that is the only thing I have to cook with unless I'm at my boyfriend's is a microwave. I have a Link card, but they randomly shut it off and I have not been able to do anything about it besides trying to call yet.
I have been skinny all my life, but I was built that way. I'm pale, but that's due to my heritage. My tongue, lips, and nail beds are not pale. Thank you, this is something I will look into more.
