Hello everyone, im posting this message to let you all know that my town of strathalbyn is in desperate need of help. Some corporate gluttons are trying to destroy our town by building a toxic mine close to our school and residence, and we are trying hard to stop them, but there are too few of us and its not easy. thats why I'm asking for YOUR help. It would make a difference if everyone could vote in this public poll to let the government know how we feel. Please just simply follow this link to vote- NO TOXIC MINE!!!! That's your towns problem, it will look better if you can get everyone from your town and surrounding areas to vote no than a whole bunch of people who don't know whats going on.
thats just the worst opinion ive heard for a long time. THIS IS A GLOBAL PROBLEM! im not talking of the ramifications that it will have on YOU! but it is the entire concept of the matter, i come for help, and all i ask is a click. this is not a question of whether or not it affects you, its whether or not it conflicts with your beliefs and morals! Do you support the destruction of a country town at the hands of a corporation??? if yes, dont click the link. but if you feel some empathy for my cause then please by all means support me. This is what i ask and i see no reason for it to be deemed inappropriate. As for the other post.... well ive already read the anarchists cookbook and i think i'll just exhaust my other options first.
What I was saying, if you read my post, is that it would be more noticealbe if the whole town was against it. Anyone can get a thousand people to sign a petition without them reading it or understanding it, the gov't isn't going to be influenced as much from a wide array of people against it, as much as they'll be influenced from a dense group of people, and they are going to be even less impressed from people outside of Australia.
its an anonimous poll. but yes, the town has recently gathered for a rally. not a bad turnout. too bad the media is biased.
What are the details of this toxic mine? Without knowledge of the subject how can you expect people to vote either way. This could be a classic NIMBY poll
