Podagra symptoms appeared a month ago. The doctor insists I have to take medication with significant side effects. He says it's very important. I don't understand the point. If the disease manifests itself as periodic pain in the big toe, which is not unbearable for me, why should I damage my liver? Am I not understanding something?

It's Gout. Best thing is lifestyle changes or the disease will get worse and affect your liver.

    From Wikipedia
Gout occurs more commonly in those who regularly drink beer or sugar-sweetened beverages; eat foods that are high in purines such as liver, shellfish, or anchovies; or are overweight.

    Red wine is bad too.

Figure out what you're doing that's causing this and stop doing that.
