The Queen opened a thing today
    Nobody saw

There was a great parade I'm told
    Nobody heard

The nation won a great award
    Nobody said

So with great skill and craftsmanship
    With public money spent
He'll speak of where you do not care
and who it was that went

    lol thanks.
I've nothing much new at the moment.
But if you're halfway mad enough to read them, There are lots of my old ones on my website.

Assume the standard disclaimer about my opinions on my own poetry ;)

lol it's not so much that I don't like what I write, it's just far removed from what I class as really great poetry.

I write amusing verse, but my stuff is to poetry what the spud gun is to a kalashnikov.

The stuff I really love is things like the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, or Shakespeare's sonnets, or the early work of Donne.

That stuff leaves burn-marks in the soul
Mine leaves holes in socks maybe.

They're just different creatures if ya get where I'm coming from.
