Maybe it's because many amerikans have become ignoramous couch potatoes with the attention span of a blipvert.
[IMG] I mean information and activity challanged with attention deficit disorder.[IMG]

Even if she leaves, her tax dollars are still paying for a religious festival. I wouldn't be particularly impressed either.

PC is big, its the new thing. It's not going anywhere as much as well all want it to. I hate political correctness, but I hate politics even more. It made me sad as a kid for my lovely rugrats show to turn into this wanna-be politcal ball of open acceptance. It's all bullshit.

I would hardly consider the easter Bunny a religous image.

Yeah I hate PC as much as anyone else, as part of the Canadian Conservative Party it's all around me, in formal, whenever I go to the conventions though nobody gives a rat's ass, it's just for show.

Pretty much in NA if the mob is hungry, throw them some bread.

Well I say, if the mob is hungry, let them starve.

A quote I like from Demolition Man ( one of my guilty pleasures ) " You can't take away people's right to be assholes ".

    Sure Easter is about Christ.

The Bunny harkens back to a pagan spring festival though.

Who is really playing offense and who is playing defense here?

Could a citizen really be offended by this?

The issue isn't whether Easter is allowed to exist. It's whether a secular government has the right to pay for religious events with tax money coming from members of other faiths.

I agree and that's why there should be separation between church and state. Within the private retail sector it's up to the merchant. If city hall (local/state/federal governments) want to rename holidays it's fine with me. I can still be involved in whatever religious rites I deem appropriate.

I remember someone in Seattle sent thier attorney against an Airport

that had pine trees with red bows set up for Christmas 2006.

Again hardly a religous symbol, and not at public expense either.

The Airport took the trees down.

Who is playing offense and who is playing defense?
